Thorns is a common marking that somewhat resembles the back and temple stripes of wolves and their agouti pattern. Thorns creates dark stripes on the back that come down from the spine at a forward diagonal angle and taper off very sharply. Thorns can also create a stripe on the dracovix's cheek or temples.

In homozygous form, Thorns stripes can also come with a pale second stripe or mini cape marking that is always cradled on the bottom by the dark stripe. The pale second stripe or mini cape markings are optional, and not every stripe has to have one.

Thorns has no minimum and can be omitted and carried by the design if desired.

The outer stripe must be darker than the base coat, and the pale stripe or cape must be lighter than the base coat.
