Drac's, while the most unique and well known creatures, are not the only ones that exist in the isles. Oddly enough, many of the creatures that exist in Zei Lu are those that ONCE existed on Earth!! Some have continued to evolve and appear to be different than their earthly ancestors but are still recognizable. These creatures will be listed here for future reference and for those who might want to include them in a story or image.
NOTE: The export of these creatures is EXPLICITLY FORBIDDEN. Featuring them in your art while your traverse the islands is totally allowed though! :D

A prehistoric species of rhino that has made the savanna of FZ its home. These large mammals are flighty and easily upset. With poor eyesight they rely primarily on their sense of smell to navigate their world. With immensely thick hide they are one tough creature to face. Females often herd together, only allowing lone males close when its calving season. They should be avoided if possible as they prefer to charge first and ask questions later.

A distant descent of the Indian Aurochs, these large beefy cattle are most commonly bright red in color and thus their name sake. Steers sport thick, pointed horns while cows often carry smaller sets. Normally very docile these beasts are the main source of meat for almost everything in the nation. These stock animals provide food for the people and especially domesticate Dracs.

Despite their popularization in modern media, these dromaeosaurs appear to be very different from those found on earth. Ranging in size from 3ft to 5ft in height, these feathered villains appear to be common hunters amongst the various biomes of the FZ. Forest specimens are very bird like, congregating in flocks that ambush prey lured into their territory. These are small but deadly in large swarms where they overwhelm their targets.
Grassland specimens are much larger, usually around 5 ft in height. These dromaeosaurs are nocturnal and move in small groups never exceeding 5 members. They are quiet and precise hunters capable of bringing down much larger targets.
Rarity: Uncommon
A massive prehistoric species of elephant, this creature is relatively docile unless provoked. Native to the Grasslands of the FZ, these are some of the largest animals to dot the savanna. They move in closely knit herds ruled by a lead bull and cow. Bachelor bulls are not an uncommon sight but should be regarded with caution. These individuals are much more aggressive and unpredictable. These creatures reach an adult size of 8 feet tall.
Rarity: Common
These rather frightening birds are separated into two groups, the domesticated variety and the wild ones. The domesticated birds are a little more docile and used by people who can't afford to buy a Dracs. They are also used in tighter, cramped spaces where the bulky Drac just can't traverse. Often seen pulling carts or helping their owners plow fields. They take the place of equines when space becomes an issue.
The wild Kelen's are less....friendly. They can even tangle with Drac's but are known to eat the stray explorer that dares to wander into their view. They are highly territorial and show no fear of humans.
Rarity: Common
This Ibex was recently marked as extinct on earth but long before this the species seems to have stumbled into Zei Lu. The species has flourished in these island nation though their natural habitat was anything but tropical. They have adapted to the more mountainous regions of the islands, living in Atakutac, Kerakintec and Itorac.
These Ibex's have also evolved to be larger than their original forms and are often used by farmers in Itore as work animals when Drac's don't do. In other places they are often considered a deliciously and kept as meat animals. Ironically enough, Drac's find them insanely tasty too.
Rarity: Uncommon
A distant relative of African Zebra's, the Quagga was considered extinct in the 19th century. However a few specimans seem to have found their way onto the isles long before people arrived. Rather small and tiny, these beasts seldom grow taller than 4.5 ft tall. However they are hardy and found solely on the Orange Islands. Their dependable nature makes them better suited for the work there in the small, family mines. They are not particularly fond of Dracs and are, unfortunately, a another favorite treat of the flying Drac.
Rarity: Common
Thylacine's are fairly common in Zei Lu while they have long since extinct on earth. These pesky little devils are no different to the islanders than squirrels are to most people on earth. Thylacines are major pests, getting into garbage and stealing from kitchens and homes. They can be found on every island and are a favorite treat for young Dracs learning to hunt.
Rarity: Rare
A beast from long ago, the Liopleurodon is a menace to anyone lost at sea. Shockingly, these great beasts seldom bother ships unless they smell blood or food. There are some stories of these beasts even being rather tame and gentle to passing boats. They mostly stick to the deepest waters which limits their interactions with people.
Rarity: Uncommon
A rather strange creature that looks like the cross between a sea cow and a walrus. They are incredibly docile and gentle beasts that like to stick to estuaries and the coastal areas around the main land. They always sport one tusk that is significantly longer than the other that are used to digging up food on the sea bed.
These tusks will be shed at the end of the fall and are collected by Zei-luians to be made into jewelry and decorations.
Rarity: Common
A prehistoric whale, this odd ball lurks around the shallows and coast lines. Rather frightening in appearance they are actually rather docile and harmless. They will often follow shipping boats in hopes of getting hand outs but otherwise avoid humans for the most part. They rarely go out to sea due to larger predators like sharks and Liopleurodons.
Rarity: Common
The Choise pigeon is a fairly new creature to the lands of Zei Lu. Having shown up about 100 years ago it's quickly spread across all the islands and can be a downright pest. They often get into seed stores and aren't afraid of humans. Some of the prettier specimens are sometimes kept as pets but generally they are a wild terrestrial bird.
Rarity: Rare
The blue pigeon is actually a rare bird even in Zei Lu. It's reclusive, hides in the jungle and avoids humans at all costs. Bright and dramatic they are subject to relentless poaching by trappers.
The one well known subject is a male owned and doted on by the Queen. Technically he is the only 'legal' pet Blue Pigeon in the nation.
Rarity: Common
A small but almost adorable flying reptile that can be found in fossils on earth thrive here in Zei Lu. Insectivores they are fairly docile and provide no threat to humans. They prefer to stay around farms and stagnate water where insects spawn and where they can fill their stomachs on a regular basis.
They act similarly to bats on earth only are active at all times of day and night. They can be caught and tamed and are popular pets among young children.
