Rumors have begin to drown the nation from the mouths of fisherman and merchants that something unholy is brewing in the forbidden lands to the north. Once thought to be the playground and home of the gods, many people are beginning to think the Diossi Ahaulil (Forbidden Zone in English) is the lair of great monsters! Fisherman who sail too close to the shoreline often return with horror stories about the sightings of strange creatures and wrecked ships...that is, if they return at all.
No longer can Queen Nani ignore the fearful cries from her people or live not knowing what lies beyond her kingdom. However after imploring for the aid of her best navigators it appears that very few of her own people WANT to know what those horrible lands hold! Without a fleet of her own to bring her mind peace she has made a VERY controversial decision...
To allow Off Worlders to Enter Zei Lu.
The decision has come with it's own set of repercussions for her majesty but she plans on handling those later. For now, she is too concerned that something much worse is awaiting across the sea and she hungers to know what. However, with the Queen opening the doors to offworlders other people have seen this opportunity and taken it...
Users who chose to enter may do with but with only one explorer/rider. Said rider must also be accompanied by a Drac who will go along with them on their journey to explore these wild lands. Drac's are required for the event but should a User want to enter and they lack a Drac there are still ways to enter!! See below.
Riders may enter with 1 or multiple mounts. They do NOT have to be all dracs! Tokotas, Shedus and other horse breeds are allowed but should have a purpose to accompanying their masters on the trek. Remember, all entrants should have at least ONE drac to enter!
**If you find yourself wanting to enter the event and lack a Drac, team up with someone who does!! Players are allowed to join others until they discover their own Drac or import one.**
The second, really the MOST important thing players must do is chose whom they wish to side with. TECHNICALLY, the Queen is the only one allowed to give permissions to visit the Diossi Ahaulil but it seems there are others who are recruiting for their own benefit. To see who you can pick between scroll down to the 'Team Selection' Part of the journal or return to the top and click on the image or link. When picking a team, players should be VERY careful about their choices! Both teams expect loyalty to their cause and should you decide to switch…they will remember. One team switch is allowed for the event but one ONLY!!
To actually enter the event, players only need to note the group with the following filled out:
Rider Name:
Age of Rider:
Rider Origin: (Offworlder? Native?)
Name of Drac:
Link to Drac: (ref or import image)
Launch Point: (See the below)
Riders Team: (Queen Nani or the Mining Company?)
Rider Teammates (Will other users be joining you? You may start alone and team up with others later! This is just for those who know they will be teaming up with others from the start)
Link to other Mount(s): (Optional)
Other comments?: (Optional)
Important Note: Forbidden items
Offworlders are restricted on what sort of items they can bring to Zei Lu. This is not only by decree of Nani but by the officials guarding the Earthen side of the Rift. The following items are NOT ALLOWED to be brought through The Rift. Characters discovered to have smuggled these types of objects will be removed from Zei Lu. Out of game, players will be forced to restart their exploration with a new handler.
Guns / advanced weaponry of any kind.
Swords, knives, crossbows, bows and arrows are all allowed.
Plastics or anything not biodegradable.
Any species of plant or animal considered an 'invasive' species
No foreign insects, reptiles or small creatures. Characters would have to pass a thorough inspection.
Only dried, freeze dried fruits and veggies. Nothing capable of seeding in Zei Lu.
Players wanting to enter the event are faced with a very big decision, that being WHO they want to represent on their epic quest. While her Majesty is the only one, legally allowed, to sanction explorers but it doesn't mean she is the only one...
When news of the event spread other people began to consider setting out on their own. What if the monstrous legends were nothing but a crock and the lands to the north housed mountains of treasure? Thus, in secret, the biggest mining corporation in all of Atakutac has thrown their hat into the ring. So...do you support The Queen or do you explore in the name of Chalxuiam Mining Corp?
Are you loyal to the crown? GOOD. If you are and wish to explore the Forbidden Zone with the Queens blessing you should join her Royal Fleet! Her Majesty is interested in EVERYTHING from the lost lands and anything you bring back whether it be a plant, shells, or even rocks!!
For everything you bring back to her she will award you with Royal Tokens that you can use to purchase special favors, royal items and much more.
Queen Nani is mostly interested in cultural and biological knowledge on these mysterious lands. What sort of beasts live there? What sort of plants do you find? Being closely connected to the earth she is all about observing without disturbing the natural beauty you find along the way. This includes sparring the lives of the wildlife unless, of course, your life is in danger.
The largest mining corporation in all of Zei Lu has thrown it's hat into the ring to fund independent explorers to Diossi Ahaulil. Going under contract with the corporation is illegal and has to be done in secret but the rewards GREATLY outweigh the risks...right? Maybe...
Keep in mind that the corporation is insanely powerful, owning almost all the mines on Atakutac and some on the Orange Isles. Most people think the company is corrupt and responsible for 95% of the ocean pollution so you could say that they aren't exactly ethical people.
However they are a cutthroat business! Run by Lord Şhakar he prefers to pay for the loyalty of those around him.
"People are only loyal to one thing: themselves" As he likes to say. Insuring that people can live a comfortable, fulfilling life tends to earn their loyalty or at least it has in his experience.
Once your team has been picked the next thing players need to do is chose a launch point! Three base camps have been set up along the beaches of the Forbidden Zone. After several years of this venture these launch points are now built up and rather impressive. Booths fashioned from local wood and palms offer adventurers a place to stock up on anything they may have forgotten to bring or to pick up on the latest gossip. Trails heading off into the unknown are well groomed here, offering adventurers a smooth start to their voyage. Of course, the farther into the wilds you wander, the more off the map you go.
Indicated by the red dot on the map, this is the western most launch point. This point starts explores off on a small peninsula that leads back into the denser jungles of the Forbidden Zone. Swamps are a frequent sight in this very wet and rainy area but eventually the environment turns temperate. These forests are brimming with life be it local fauna or even wild Dracs. Alpha point offers explorers the chance to also explore a more Taiga like environment the farther north they go. Temperatures here continue to grow cooler and pine tree's thicker.
Alpha point is the most explored area out of the FZ, offering explorers a rather safe and predictable path. This path eventually 'ends' at the foot of a massive stretch of mountains. What exists within or even beyond these mountains is still unknown, a ripe new frontier for the veteran or even fresh explorer.
Important info for players
The distance from the launch point to the mountains is several hundred miles. In-game, it would take at least a week to a week and a half to make the trek from the beach to the mountains. Keep this in mind when writing for your explorers.
New Explorers wishing to make this voyage to the mountains will need to submit a minimum of 3 exploration pieces before they will reach that area.
Veteran explorers or those brave enough to reach the vast mountains of the FZ now have an entirely new world to discover. These high peaks are hidden and clouds and dotted with snow, challenging explorers with an all new set of challenges, dangers and surprises! Players may find that traveling by air is more suitable in this region than continuing on foot. But then again, it's all up to you, the player.
Important info for players
This is an all new phase of the exploration event!! Players are free to push forward into the peaks of the FZ to see what else is lurking in this mysterious place.
The trails here are rocky and unstable. Flying through these peaks may be safer... emphasis on may. Wind sheers are a common thing here not to mention the potential for unknown aerial foes.
Central launch point to the northwest of Atakutac. The beach here is vast and covered in soft white sands while the north appears to be dense forest. A sweet smell seems to be coming from the north east, almost like the smell that follows a heavy rain. These forests are tricky to travel and are very maze like.
Beta point is the least explored and considered to be the most dangerous path for explorers to take. A lack of information on this area is attributed to the dense trees which make mapping almost impossible. Additionally, known apex predators call this area home. Strange artifacts and bizarre sightings have been reported to those who venture into these suffocating woods. The end of which is still undiscovered.
The eastern most point. The queen would have preferred to have more launch points to the east but the Itorian chieftain has forbidden such things. Wanting to be respectful she has set up this final point. Initial observation has shown that the jungle is thinnest here with clusters of odd almost...temperate plants growing amongst the vines and jungle trees. The forest here is less suffocating here than it is near Beta point. Unlike the forests of Alpha, the temperate groves here are more open and airy. However at night, something remarkable happens. The denser parts of the woods glow in a dazzling display of bioluminescence which is only visible if explorers are brave enough to douse their fires.
Continuing north the forests eventually begin to grow thinner and thinner until one is left facing a massive open expanse of golden grass. These Grasslands are bursting with exotic wildlife of all shape and size! However just how many new species or what lies beyond this savanna remains a mystery.
Important info for players
The distance from the launch point to the grasslands is several hundred miles. In-game, it would take at least a week to a week and a half to make the trek from the beach to the savanna. Keep this in mind when writing for your explorers.
New Explorers wishing to make this voyage to the grasslands will need to submit a minimum of 3 exploration pieces before they will reach that area.
Veteran explorers or those determined enough to reach these distant plains now have an entirely new world to discover. These lands are teeming with wildlife of all shape and size. What is friendly and what will turn out to be a foe? Unfortunately no one knows yet so you'll have to just follow your gut. These plains are beautiful but also offer very little in the way of shelter. You and your team will be exposed here both to the yet to be discovered elements and...anything lurking in that tall grass...
Important info for players
This is an all new phase of the exploration event!! Players are free to push forward into the grassland expanse of the FZ to see what else is hiding here.
Trees are a rare sight here (Think African savanna) making the views expansive but also offering little to no shelter. Wild the larger species are easy to spot here there are still others lurking about in the tall grasses. Explorers will have to prepare for for unexpected surprises be it from the sky or lurking a few feet behind you
