Keuring is a term used by the Friesian Registry to describe special shows were all potential breeding horses are observed, scored and often times registered. It's a way to help the breed keep potential breeding stock in tact, score stallions and improve the breed as a whole. This is something that the Drac Cavall also does with some minor differences. There are two different Keurings, one for conformation and another for their gait assessment.
REMEMBER! Imported Dracs do NOT need a confirmation test! They all are imported to earth with an average passing score. You JUST need to do the Gaits test.
Participating in a Drac Keuring is TOTALLY optional. It is NOT mandatory.....HOWEVER...
After Drac's initial 5 spots are used, you have the ability to unlock more only by completing your Keuring.
For mares can earn 2 more spots for a good overall score and supreme scores will earn your mares an additional 5. (So 7 max for good mares, 10 for surpremes).
For stallions, they can earn an additional 5 spots for a good score and 10 for a supreme! (So 10 for good and 15 for supreme.)
Designed to examine the Drac's natural build and body proportions.
*Not required for directly imported Dracs!*
Current setting:
A ring has been set up on a warm sunny beach in Miami, just a few hundred miles from the Zei-Lu Rift. The ring is much like a dressage ring and not meant to keep horses in. Handlers must control their horses and stand them for judges to access their confirmation.
Weather: Bright and sunny with spotty cloud cover.
Acceptable poses for entry:
- Standing
- Slow walk
Bonus points for showing the handler
Designed to examine the Drac's flow and movement. Elevation of the legs and length of stride are scrutinized here.
Current Setting:
A full sized showed ring painted white just south of Southern Pines, North Carolina. The surrounding area is heavily forested with pine trees sheltering these remote show grounds. Crowds have gathered around the ring to watch these new and odd horses prance about. Handlers are allowed to set their horses free to move in Liberty but they must still have control of their dracs.
Weather: Partially cloudy and cool. Slight breeze out of the west that has tree's rustling and the horses more spook prone.
Acceptable poses for entry:
- Extended walk
- Trot
- Canter
- Hand gallop
Bonus points for showing the handler
Confirmation and Gait entries will be judged by the admins and judged in the following fashion:
1-50 RNG Base score
Accuracy: 1-20 (Meaning is the setting right?)
Creativity: 1-10 (Overall appeal of the image. Is it completely finished? Did the artist add in something funny the Drac is doing? Perhaps they added show tack)
Effort: 1-20 (Based against your own gallery, the main thing we want to see is that it doesn't look rushed. Commissioning someone else to do your piece will not effect this score)
**Bonus points! Certain items that can be purchased with Potato increase your score. These items will boost your lowest category score.
Average score= 1 - 55
Good score= 56- 84
Supreme score= 85-or higher
