Curriculum and planning is the procedure of deciding what to learn, why to absorb it, and how to organize the teaching-learning process while taking existing curriculum requirements and available resources into account.
I went through a lengthy process of deciding what to learn, why to absorb it, and how to organize the teaching-learning process. The reference materials provided helped me plan the lesson and create the IMs. Even though the materials were provided, I was able to organize them in such a way that the lesson progressed from simple to complex, or from lower to higher-level thinking activities. Several activities were identified in the resource materials, but the question was whether those activities were appropriate for online learning and face-to-face settings. I added some activities that catered to flexible learning demands. In this domain, it never showed a significant problem because I already had exceptional expertise in developing lesson plans and instructional materials. I already knew how to align the activities with the curriculum. To ensure more effective teaching, my cooperating teacher in VFES, Ma'am Ana Mae Nebula, reviewed my lesson plans, which I demonstrated in VFES. Ma'am Patricia Ces D. Mamaril, my cooperating teacher in Baybay II, also reviewed my lesson plans, and they made some suggestions and gave good feedback.
As teachers, we are the planners of our lessons, and our freedom to construct them is limited. We must keep following the education system of the school to which we were assigned. And this is the lesson I've learned during this internship journey. To avoid making multiple mistakes in our lesson plan, we must follow the school's education system and the books they use. Aside from that, we must be critical in creating the activities to ensure that each activity is time-bound, adaptable to the online learning and face-to-face setup, and responsive to students' needs. My experiences taught me a lot, and they helped me gain confidence and fall in love with my chosen profession in the future. I've learned that planning ahead of time for a class can help you confidently teach the young students and be a competent teacher
