DLG At-A-Glance
Quick info about the Digital Library of Georgia
The Digital Library of Georgia (DLG), available at https://dlg.usg.edu, connects users to more than 820,000 digital objects in more than 1137 collections from over 200 libraries, archives, state agencies, historical societies, museums, theological organizations, and cultural heritage institutions. Developed by incorporating input from end users, librarians, and other stakeholders, our site is designed to provide simple navigation and quick access to these resources for all audiences.
The Digital Library of Georgia also administers:
Georgia Historic Newspapers, a single, consolidated website where newspapers dating from 1763 to 2018 are full-text searchable, and can be browsed by city, title, date, keyword, or region, with content digitized from microfilm produced by the Georgia Newspaper Project, and other newspaper partnerships
the Civil Rights Digital Library, which brings together more than 200 libraries, archives, and museums across the United States to provide free online access to historical materials documenting the Civil Rights Movement.
We are an award-winning initiative of GALILEO, Georgia’s statewide virtual library, housed at the University of Georgia Libraries. With the state's cultural heritage organizations, the DLG shares Georgia's history online for free through its websites. The project supports its partner organizations by offering free and low-cost services. The DLG also serves as Georgia's service hub for the Digital Public Library of America and as the home of the Georgia Newspaper Project, the state's historic newspaper preservation project.
