National Garden Club Schools:

National Garden Clubs has a long history of offering educational opportunities. Then see what classes are available in each of the four National Garden Club Schools:

Environmental Schools Calendar  The four courses in this series may be taken in any order. 

Gardening  Schools Calendar  The four courses in this series may be taken in any order.

Landscape Design Schools Calendar  The four courses in this series may be taken in any order.  

Note that District IV is holding the 4th course in the Landscape Design School (Series 38) from October 25-26 at University of North Florida, 11820 Central Parkway, Bldg 64, Jacksonville 32224.  Free Parking, lunch included each day, two garden tours and design evaluations.  See the Event Brochure

Consultants within any of these schools may join FFGC Tri-Council.

Multiple Refresher Courses  These courses are open to everyone.  They may offer one, two, or three subjects from the National Garden Club Schools Calendar.  Consultants must take a refresher course that covers their consultantship area once every five year to maintain consultancy.   Instead they may re-take a course within their school consultantship.  

Flower Show Schools Courses  The four courses in this series may be taken in any order.

Symposia  All accredited National Garden Club Flower Show Judges are required to take symposia to continue their accreditation.   Interested garden club members may take a symposia for enrichment.

FFGC Short Courses and Study Series:

FFGC  offers a variety of learning experiences through its Short Courses, Studies, and Fun with Flowers events.  See the FFGC Educational Opportunities page.

Regional Short Courses - Two-day regional Short Courses are offered annually in the North Short Course and the Tropical Short Course.  

FFGC/University of Florida Short Course is offered annually at the University of Florida.  The two-day course qualifies as an NGC refresher.

FFGC Horticultural Study Course, Diggin' It, is offered periodically.   Contact your District Horticultural Chairman for more information.

FFGC Floral Design Study Series is comprised of six basic and three advanced floral design courses.  See the Floral Design Study Series descriptions for more information.

FFGC "Fun With Flowers" course offers the  everyone the opportunity to design a make-and-take floral arrangement.  Live materials are supplied. 

Local Club Classes and Events

Our own District Garden Clubs hold classes of interest to the public or other garden club members.  Don't forget to take advantage of the local University of Florida Extension Classes and plant sales, as well as county fairs.

Members are encouraged to contact the District Webmaster so she may advertise them on our Facebook Page or on the District website.
