A Tale Of Trouble & Turmoil

Queue: To the side of the upper area of Toho town stands a worn red torii gate at entrance to a large bamboo forest. Passing through, guests will wind through the forest, passing through tunnels of more identical torii gates. As they venture further into the forest, they will eventually pass a small overgrown inari shrine.

Continuing further, guests will eventually be lead into the show’s main theatre. The open air theater (though the seating area is, of course covered) is arranged similarly to an amphitheater. The stage looks like the courtyard of a derelict castle, long abandoned and partially overgrown. After everyone takes their seats, the show begins.

Plot Description: Tonosama Tetti-Tatti (yes, a nod to Make Mine Music of all films) has recently ordered his samurai to track down a mercenary colony in the woods. What he doesn’t know is that the woods are also populated with youkai. The samurai he sends will have to brave the mercenaries and youkai alike. Their first sequence is a simulated horseback element, where they brace themselves on a series of different obstacles with jumps, sudden turns, and ducking under hazards.

When they enter the forest, they have to dodge falling logs, some of which even roll. Eventually, a fierce tengu will dive down at one samurai, who block the attack and then counter with a powerful demonstration of iajitsu. Before long, many Tengu appear, resulting in a battle sequence with many feints, flips, slashes, and jumps. Even a geyser is used.

After the altercation with the Tengu, we continue forward into the woods, where we find the ruin that the mercenaries are using. Massive Dogu statues lurk as guardians. One of them then awakens and pursues our group of samurai, who manage to roll to dodge it. Then we enter the mercenary camp...

The leader challenges them to a duel. During the fight, she, yes she, is unmasked, and faces the samurai leader face to face... romantically. Suddenly, Tetti-Tatti arrives, disappointed in his men, and orders them to commit Seppuku, before the Dogu guardian appears, and grabs him and drags him away!
