Pre-Master Program with University of Amsterdam

The IT Del – University of Amsterdam (UvA) Pre-Master Partnership establishes a unified progression path to prepare undergraduate engineering students from North Sumatra for direct entry into European Master of Science tracks. The program structures a 15-credit (30 ECTS) sequence that shifts away from fractured, isolated modules toward a collaborative teaching model. Under this framework, foundational business and research topics are delivered by local IT Del faculty, while advanced core modules are co-taught on campus through intensive face-to-face sessions led by visiting UvA professors.

As Lead Faculty Lecturer for the Strategy and Organization course, responsibilities include co-managing curriculum design alongside UvA module leadership, integrating regional Sumatran commercial case studies into global strategy frameworks, and facilitating ongoing seminar tutorials. Additional duties encompass serving on the joint academic committee to evaluate and filter high-performing candidates for Master of Science admission, alongside overseeing international faculty transit, accommodation, and operational budget allocations.

Academic standards across all pre-master modules enforce a double-pass evaluation framework requiring a minimum score of 5.5 on individual examinations (weighted at 60%) and group project deliverables (weighted at 40%). Instruction across qualitative and quantitative research tracks emphasizes structured data coding, internal validity controls, precise scale measurement, and hypothesis testing standards to ensure rigorous academic preparation.
