Actinic Keratosis are pre-cancerous skin growth caused by the sun.
Klisyri reacts against the pre-cancerous sun-damaged skin.
Cost can be an issue with Klisyri and depending on insurance may cost $95. Please contact our office if it is cost-prohibitive.
HOW TO USE:
• Wash the affected area and dry completely before applying Klisyri
• Apply Klisyri to the treatment area (packets are extremely small - start in area with the most sun damage/actinic keratosis)
• Wash hands immediately after application
• Use one packet daily for 5 days
• Treatment can be repeated as instructed by your provider on additional body locations or every 6 to 12 months. Klisyri only treats active actinic keratosis.
WHAT TO EXPECT
• Redness, flaking and scaling may occur but is mostly mild. Maximum redness/scaling usually occurs between days 5 and 8.
• Redness and scaling usually resolves within one month of treatment
• Rarely individuals may have more significant redness and swelling, this is more common when the cream is used on the chest and arms but can occur on the face.
• Some individuals experience no redness or swelling but this does not mean that the cream was ineffective.
• No topical treatment is 100% effective and there may be some remaining actinic keratosis following treatment. It is always recommended to follow up with your medical provider 4 weeks after completing treatment.
