Spiked adds pointy, keratinous spikes to the neck and body, greatly decreasing the dergon's use as a steed.
While not free to edit, Spiked can be redrawn or edited with an item or a Covering mutation. Please check the bottom of the section for pointers and ranges!
Spiked follows Keratin rules, and has access to any options detailed there, as well as allowing a lateral gradient across the entire set of Spikes.
When paired with Saber, it may cause Spikes within its range to grow to up to 2x their original length (without the use of an item).
When drawing your own Spikes, they may be broad and flat, long and thin, or any kind of variation in between, and may be up to 2.5x the length of the original lines. You may add up to three distinct rows of Spikes along each side of the body, and they may originate from the Maximum range.
Armored covers the dergon in plates and osteoderms, often growing into points along the body.
While not free to edit, Armored can be redrawn or edited with an item or a Covering mutation. Please check the bottom of the section for pointers and ranges!
The main plates of Armored may either follow Keratin rules, or may take a slightly darker shade of the skin. Markings may show on top of, or be hidden by, Armored. The Extras layer follows Keratin rules, but may be hidden.
When paired with Saber, it may cause spikes on the Armor within its range to grow to up to 2x their original length, OR add up to two new spikes per Armor plate (without the use of an item).
When drawing your own Armored, you can take inspiration from ankylosaurs and crocodilians, adding thick bone plates under the skin of your Dergon. Armored can cover up to 80% of the Maximum range, but if it covers above 50% (a little more than the official lines do), markings which appear only on the body must show on top of it.
