Mycologic overrides the dergon's entire design, instead letting them mimic the patterning of any mushroom (including shelf fungus, cups, lichens, and slime molds. Food molds are allowed but discouraged, and MUST be spoilered/warned for! ). The design does not have to be an exact replica, but color and pattern inspiration should be clearly visible! You can include a link to an example of your chosen fungus when submitting a mycologic design for approval, and it may optionally be linked in your import description.
You may still include your dergon's original genotype in the choice of inspiration, for example, such as choosing to mimic a bleeding tooth fungus when your geno is Chalk with Display. You can also use Mycologic to influence an otherwise normal design, for example taking a Jasper with Unders geno and adding a brighter red, and white spots, by choosing a fly agaric as your inspiration.
Mycologic takes its colors from your choice of natural inspiration.
Mycologic may bend and break marking rules, including ignoring your geno completely, to mimic your choice of fungus.
Mycologic may affect your entire dergon. If you choose to include your original geno, Mycologic must affect at least 50% of your design.
When present with a color mutation, Mycologic may do one of three things:
Completely override the color mutation
Allow the color mutation to affect the design, influencing features you're taking inspiration from
Take inspiration from a mineral which resembles the color mutation
The third option includes, as an example, things like the angel wing mushroom for Leucism, or indigo milk cap for Silver.
When present with another mutation such as Chimera, Mycologic may either override the chimeric design or take inspiration from a fungus with two distinct parts, like the lacy skirt on long-netted stinkhorns.
Strange Covering may be influenced by Mycologic, creating folds of skin, feathers, or fins that mimic the chosen inspiration. Mild can affect up to 20% of the dergon, Moderate up to 60% and Severe up to 100%.
