Feathered adds a coat of thick, downy feathers to the dergon's body. These are not full flight feathers, and function more like fur.
While not free to edit, Feathered can be redrawn or edited with an item or a Covering mutation. Please check the bottom of the section for pointers and ranges!
Feathered may match the base coat, or have a slight color shift like Wingsails. Markings must appear over Feathered, and may change color slightly to match the shift in base color.
Face sails may affect any long feathers near the head and neck.
Marking edges may meet and conform to Feathered lines, sometimes forming a more textured edge than would usually be allowed.
Custom Feathered should generally stay on the main body, but can cover the wing near the arms in fluff. Feathers should only originate from the Maximum range, but can fall slightylt outside this (especially into the Extended range) if they are particularly long.
Individual feathers should not be as distinct or specialized as the flight feathers on Avian. The saddle feathers on roosters are a good example of the most distinctly shaped that feathers can be.
Avian creates a thick coat of feathers over almost the entirety of the dergon's body, adding onto the existing flight surface with an extra, feathery flight plane.

Flight may affect the long primary and secondary feathers which overlap with the wing membranes.
Wingsails and Face sails can affect the Extras layer.

Custom Avian can cover the entire body in a thick, feathery coating. These feathers may be distinctly shaped, mimicking the wide range of feather types found in real birds. Most feathers may originate from the Maximum range, but only primary and secondary flight feathers may originate from the Extended range. Feathers may cover the entire dergon, including erasing away small parts of the wing membranes to leave only a feathered wing. The majority of feathers should reach or exceed the trailing wing edge before erasing.
