Dapple causes one of two effects: a soft gradient with round or irregular holes, or soft edged irregular spots, both of which fade out into the base. In Hom and Super form, Dapple may cause both of these forms to appear together.

Dapple can cover the Maximum range in Het. form, and the Extended range in Hom. or Super form.
Dapple may affect markings underneath it, causing them to lighten or darken. Dapple may layer over Dilution genes when affecting markings this way.Â
