Spotting makes, well, spots. They can be large or small, and should be somewhat round or oval, but can be irregular and follow the dergon’s anatomy. Spots can appear regularly, or in a more random pattern, and can clump together in groups. Spotting should not completely cover large areas in a mass; some breaks between individual spots or clumps should be visible!
Layering Rules
Can freely layer under & over markings, except White, Black, and Dilution genes
Hard, Textured, Minimally Soft
Border, Pieces may touch or not touch, May disperse into smaller dots with Free Speckles.
Spotting may use the Maximum range in Het. and Hom. form, or the Extended range in Super form.
Spotting may venture further onto the wings when paired with a marking like Flagged, causing the other marking to disperse into smaller spots.
When paired with another gene that causes spots, such as Appaloosa or Sooty, Spotting may act as another spot color which does not have to follow lighter or darker restrictions. It can still create spots outside of the range of the other marking!
