Day trip to explore the former capital of Spain on 1/12/20

After living in this beautiful city for over a month, I finally took a tour to learn more about Madrid and Spain's history. It was so cool to learn about the important landmarks that I walk by almost everyday. Some of the highlights of the tour were the Royal Palace, Plaza Major and the parliament building. The best part of the tour was the guide. He had learned English in Scotland so he had a Scottish/Spanish accent which was hilarious to listen to.

The next day I left the city and headed out into the mountains. One of my friends had found a hiking club so we joined them for their hike. I'm so glad I went because this club was such a diverse group! Almost everyone was from a different country so we just chatted and hiked for a couple hours. The hike was pretty easy but along the way I fell into a creek and it started to rain! I might have destroyed my shoes but it was such a fun day.
