In 2016, the state legislature of Illinois passed the PWR Act. Due to this, local high schools and community colleges now work together to design transitional math courses. These courses, taught in high schools, prepare students for math classes in college based on the pathway they choose. The courses must meet certain guidelines detailed within the act. As part of the committee, I help review the outlines and syllabi of the courses along with the other members of the committee to make sure they meet the necessary standards.
