Business Calculus naturally lends itself to real world applications. Throughout the semester, after each new topic we would learn, I would create a worksheet or test questions where the student plays the role of a business analyst for a fictional company. They would calculate marginal cost, elasticity of demand, consumers' and producers' surplus among other business analyst topics. I used the worksheet on marginal cost to assess my students based on the IRL rubrics.
