Life is a marathon. You do not have to be smart; you just have to do it!
Once you have figured it out, it is up to you to decide how you want the world to remember you.
Throughout my life, I have found that individuals tend to be the ultimate force preventing themselves from becoming who we can and should become. Too often, we are misled into believing that we are the only ones going through particular hardships. Too many times, we fail to realize that no matter what an individual's background may be, everyone has their own obstacles and hills to overcome. During my four years in the Corps of Cadets, I found this to be true in the most literal sense. After training others, and having gone through grueling physical trials myself, I found that we often do not realize how close we are to the finish line. We do not realize that we are performing better than the status quo and doing much better than what was ever expected of us. We accomplish missions that we never knew were supposed to have been impossible.
Though we may start our lives off at different points of opportunity, and with separate odds, there is never an excuse to let others determine our fate. Thoughts can and do become reality. It is up to us to take those initial steps forward and to continue placing one foot in front of the other. We must keep going, until we arrive at our ultimate destination. Find your goal, and work towards becoming a good person. Work towards this everyday, until it becomes a daily habit and a part of who you are. Once you have accomplished your dreams, create new ones, and don't slip. No one else can prevent you from making your thoughts and dreams become reality. It is up to you to put that first foot forward and to not give in. Don't ever catch yourself saying that you "can't!"
Below, are a couple of fun and motivational Texas A&M sports videos:
During my first semester at Texas A&M, the Aggies entered their first year in the Southeastern Conference, or SEC. Going into the 2012 football season, Texas A&M was not expected to win many of its games. Instead, our school was mocked for believing that it could contend in the top college football conference in the nation. Nevertheless, during our first season in the SEC, we were the only school that beat the 2011 and 2012 BCS Champions, Alabama. Our quarterback also became the first freshman in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy.
During my final semester as an undergraduate student, Texas A&M competed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. In the second round of the tournament, Texas A&M came-back from almost losing by 12 points to Northern Iowa in, what was supposed to have been, the last 44 seconds of the game. The Aggies won the game in double-overtime.
