Franklintown is a historic mill village in Southwest Baltimore that maintains a secluded, rural feel despite its location within the city's boundaries. This tranquil neighborhood is part of Baltimore City's District 8 and is known for its historic architecture, large homes, and proximity to green space.
Historic Significance: Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, the neighborhood was founded in 1832 as one of the region's first planned communities.

Franklintown Community Association (FCA) is the nonprofit community association for Franklintown, a national historic district in Baltimore whose area includes both Baltimore City and County. The FCA is in the midst of post-pandemic regrouping and would love for you to join us!
Association meetings have been held on Saturdays, but the specific dates change month to month. The association uses its social media and other channels to inform residents of upcoming meeting dates, times, and locations.

The Northwestern District has a diverse makeup of communities such as Hanlon-Longwood, Cross Country and Mount Washington. The Northwestern District is home to the world-famous Pimlico Race Course, the second oldest race track in the nation and host to the second leg of the Triple Crown, The Preakness Stakes. Pimlico has played host to racing icons such as Seabiscuit, War Admiral, Secretariat, and the 2015 Triple Crown winner, American Pharoah. Sinai Hospital is also in this District.
