All lots and streets where parking is permitted are coded by zone. These parking zones are indicated on the parking map, and color-coded signs are posted in areas corresponding to the map. Generally, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday you must park in the same color zone as your permit.
After noon on Friday, all Zones are open to vehicles displaying a valid Texas State Permit of any type. Vehicles displaying a Red Zone Permit may also park in Green Residence Hall or Purple Perimeter areas, except for the Green Residence Hall spaces located in the Edward Gary Street Garage.
Several spaces on campus are restricted 24 hours a day and are labeled with signs.
Spaces with signs, cones, barricades, and curb or pavement markings indicate a reserved space or area. Students, faculty, and staff cannot move signs, cones or barricades.
Students, faculty, and staff cannot park in a Visitor parking space.
Permits may not be shared, used to circumvent restrictions, or otherwise be used fraudulently, and is subject to citation, impound, and loss of parking privileges for one year.
Gate Access Cards:
One gate access card is issued to eligible faculty and staff who have purchased an annual permit or upon request with the purchase of a semester permit. Faculty and staff should retain their gate card for the duration of time they continue to purchase an annual permit. New cards are not issued with each new permit.
One Edward Gary Street Garage access card is available to residents of Sterry, Butler and Lantana Halls who have purchased an annual Resident Hall permit.
There is a $10 replacement fee for lost or damaged cards. Gate cards must be returned upon separating from the University or upon dorm move-out.

Student Health Center Parking (SHC):
The gated SHC parking lot is for use by patients of the facility only. If a vehicle is parked in the SHC lot and the driver is not in the SHC, the vehicle is subject to further enforcement action including booting or towing.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Electric vehicle charging stations are available to electric vehicles displaying any type of valid Texas State permit, excluding motorcycles and golf carts.
Only electric vehicles may park in the dedicated spaces.
Vehicles must be actively charging when parked.
Charging is limited to four hours.
Vehicles must be moved before the end of the four-hour time frame.
The charging fee is $2 per hour
