Day Camp
This is a Cub Scout event that is designed to help scouts achieve rank advancements while having fun with their fellow scouts! Scouts will participate in rank specific activities. This is a one to three day event, usually taking place in July in Orland Park. The scouts are able to learn about BB guns, archery, nature, STEM, and a host of other things. Siblings are welcome to register as well! Registration fees are set by Pathway to Adventure Council.
Pack Family Camp - Pow Wow Weekends
The Summer and Fall Pow Wow’s include overnight family camping on Friday and Saturday Night at a local forest preserve area. On Friday afternoon/evening, we set up camp. The pack then goes on a night hike and usually plays a few games and enjoys a campfire before calling it a night. On Saturday, the pack plans activities for the scouts and families to participate in during the day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday is provided by the pack, for the families, funded by the pack's popcorn sales. Breakfast on Sunday before cleanup is also provided. There is usually many games, activities, crafts, skits, campfires, and more to look forward to!
Overnights
Every year, the Pack tries to plan at least one (and maybe two) museum overnight trips. Additional fees may apply.
These include, but are not limited to:
Eagle Cave http://www.eaglecave.net/
Cantigny First Division http://www.firstdivisionmuseum.org/
USS Cobia Submarine http://www.wisconsinmaritime.org/index.php
Chicago area museums and locations, which can vary from year to year.
We do our best to subsidize scouts’ involvement in any of the pack’s activities. However, sometimes there are additional costs – in Pack and Den events, either for the Scout, for your family, if you are participating, or both. Leaders should know in advance, and we will do our best to communicate that to you.
