PURCHASING INSURANCE
Insurance is typically purchased in Spring
Your Outbound Coordinator will use YEAH to trigger an email that will get sent to the student, and inside that email, you will see a link. By clicking on the link, you will be taken to a site where you will be able to purchase your insurance. The link is specific to an individual student, and sends student-specific information to the Insurance site. You cannot share your link with a different student.
NOTE , it is often required to have proof of insurance before you can apploy for visas (this will depend on country). Please make sure you purchase your insurance as quickly as you can. This will often be in April, and will cost anywhere from $1100-$1300.
FILING A CLAIM
It is important to make sure your Host Family does not give any of their information to a medical provider for financial coverage. It should either by your YEO or you as a student that the provider obtains information about.
If your provider will not automatically bill the insruance comapny, you can pay for it directly, and then file a claim to get reimbursed. The form for the claim should be avialable from your YEO, and is also avaialbe in the Forms section of this site.
