Very powerful chronotrope with positive inotropic effects
Clinical use: bradycardia (will work in some patients who are refractory to epinephrine)
Onset: 1 - 5 minutes
Half-Life: 2.5 - 5 minutes
Concentration: 1 mg/ 250 mL NS/D5W
2 mg/ 250mL
Starting Dose Range: 2 mcg/min
Titration Dose Increment: 1mcg/min or as per MD orders (typically against heart rate)
Rate of Titration: q15 minutes or earlier if pt symptomatic *; OR as per MD orders
*Note: if NO effect on heart rate within 2-3 dose increases, inform MD
Maximum Dose: 10 mcg/min
