Conversion mcg/min to mL/hour (NOTE: depends on concentration of medication)
e.g. Isoproterenol 2 mcg/min to mL/hour
Standard concentration is Isoproterenol 1 mg/ 250 mL NS.
1 mg= 1000 mcg in 250 mL
Therefore 2 mcg is in 250/1000 x 2 mL= 0.5 mL
2 mcg/min = 0.5 mL/min
NOW converting mL/min to mL/hour, (multiply dose by 60)
0.5 mL/min = 0.5 mL x 60
= 30 mL/hour
