You have no idea how often I see people using either bronzer or contour for the wrong purposes. I've found that when I ask why they're using it for that purpose, I get one of two responses. Their response is either "Does it really matter?" (yes it does) or "Those are different things?". I totally understand if you didn't know the difference between contour and bronzer, so I'm here to help! Keep reading to learn more...
Contour looks very similar to bronzer, but it is used for a completely different purpose than bronzer. Contour can come in liquid, stick, and powder forms. I personally prefer stick because it gives me more control over how much gets applied.
Contour is used to give the impression of a shadow on your face. You may see your favorite influencers or celebrities use contour under their cheekbones, around their nose, under their jaw, and at the top of their forehead! A lot of people are insecure about having a "fat face" (which you do not, you are absolutely stunning), so they use contour to give the impression of a slimmer face.
Contour typically gets confused with bronzer more when it is in powder form, making them look very similar!
Bronzer can be confused with contour at times, and are typically found in powder form!
Bronzer is used to give a glowy shimmer on your face. You may also see bronzer used on the cheekbones, forehead, nose, or jawline. It almost gives a tan (or sunkissed) impression that people tend to enjoy!
I often get asked if people can use both contour and bronzer at the same time? The answer is yes. While you may prefer only one or the other, as you can see in the photo, the places where the contour hits is a different area than the bronzer hits.
If you are looking for a very slim (or snatched/as people say these days) and glowy/bronzed face, go for it!
