Want to start practicing mindfulness skills with your student? Maybe with the whole family? We highly recommend it. Mindfulness skills teach people to observe their emotions, sensations, and thoughts with more perspective. These skills help people slow down and think before they act. Mindfulness helps people notice small emotions and sensations before they become major outbursts. Mindfulness can also help people be less judgmental and more compassionate and open-minded. Give it a try! Like most skills, it may not be easy at first. Contact your social worker or counselor if you have any questions about mindfulness challenges.
A message from Wildwood Outdoor Education Center:
Get Outside!
Until camp comes, we've been putting together videos and activities with fun ways to learn and grow outside. We'll be posting three activities per week on our Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages. We'll also be posting printable handouts for the activities on our website at https://wildwoodctr.org/get-outside/
This week, we're gardening with fruit and veggie scraps, using bio-inspired designs to build birds' nests, and more! Tune in and learn outside with us!
