These people are not serious!
How serious is it to threaten ( and carry out ) a purge of highly qualified, dedicated members of the military, especially during a time of war?

"Major Erica Vandal has spent 14 years in the U.S. Army. She’s deployed to Afghanistan, earned a Bronze Star, and dedicated her life to military service. Now, she’s being kicked out — not for failing to meet standards, but for being transgender. Correspondent Dan Ming follows Vandal and other soldiers as they brace for President Trump’s purge of transgender people from the U.S. military."
Just a reminder: On May 6, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to implement a policy banning most transgender individuals from serving in the military. The 6-3 ruling, with liberal justices dissenting, paused lower court injunctions that had previously blocked the policy while legal challenges continue. The policy allows the discharge of transgender service members and restricts new enlistments.
What could be more serious than forcing trans men and women to dress and groom themselves according to standards for another gender in order to be allowed to plead for keeping their jobs?
And how serious is a policy that pays members their full salaries while not allowing them to do their jobs?

Other countries are paying attention and reporting on just how Unserious this current administration is.
Check out the video below, broadcast last year by the BBC World Service.

Retired four-star General Stanley McChrystal spent 34 years (1976-2010) in the U.S. Army , serving with honor under presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.
He takes all of this very seriously.
The article at right describes his attendance at a "retirement celebration" for five transgender service members who were forced out. It also outlines more specifics of the current policy.
HERE IS SOME SERIOUSLY GOOD NEWS, at least for now...
Although this case does not involve the military, the decison (if it holds up) could have enormous implications across the country for transgender youth.
“Unserious leaders are unsafe,” Judge Kasubhai wrote in the opinion’s opening line. “There is nothing more serious than our leaders’ dedication to the rule of law so that we might maintain the integrity of our constitutional democracy. This case highlights a leader’s unserious regard for the rule of law. This case demonstrates how disregard for the rule of law does not merely result in an abstract infraction. Rather, and tragically, this case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”
