Improve your English.
Make a friend.
Have a new sister/brother.
Have to opportunity to visit your new brother/sister in her home country.
Let your Conversational English teacher know if you are interested :)
Let´s get to know each other:
First things first:
Introduce yourselves:
Hi, I'm... / My name is...
Speed Chatting:
Arrange chairs in two lines facing each other (local students on one side, visitors on the other).
Speak with the person in front of you. Each pair talks for 2–3 minutes before one line shifts to the right to create new pairs.
Ask follow-up questions to keep the conversation going.
Some conversation starters might be:
What do you usually do on weekends?
What’s your favorite food from your country?
Do you prefer the beach or the mountains? Why?
Tell me about your school – what subjects do you like?
What kind of music do you listen to?
Have you ever traveled to another country? Where did you go?
What do you like to do when you’re feeling bored?
Rotating Conversation Stations
Let´s divide the class into 6 groups of 3.
There will be 7 “conversation stations”, each hosted by a visiting student.
Each station has a fun conversation theme, e.g.:
Hobbies & Free Time
Music & Movies
Travel & Countries
School Life
Sports
Food & Cooking
Future Plans/Dream Jobs
Instructions:
Each local group rotates every 5–6 minutes, speaking with a different visitor.
Visitors talk about the topics above. Students listen and ask them as many questions as they can.
