Evo X Build Part IV

Evo X Update

So I last left off with the track day at Oregon Raceway Park in North Eastern Oregon. Since then I have been participating in local autocross events in Salem and Portland as well as making some minor adjustments to the car itself.

Here is one of the local Salem events that no matter how hard I tried there was always one cone I would run over. These events are known for being tight but this one section I could not get my back rear tire away from the cone.

After that I managed to pick up a used Tomei Expreme Ti catback exhaust for the car.

But after doing some research I came across Tomei USA's replacement order sheet for the Evo X and I called up my local supplier which was PRE (http://preracing.com/) here in Portland and ordered a replacement pipe for $170.

Here is the Tomei replacement guide:

After a week or two I received my replacement pipe in the mail and got it all mounted up.

I was a bit skeptical about the overall look of a single exit exhaust on the Evo X but after feeling how light this new exhaust was and how it actually looked mounted up I instantly fell in love with it.

Overall the Tomei sounds much deeper at idle then the ETS exhaust I had. As well there is not as much highway drone. At wide open throttle it sounds just like all other Evo X's. Loud. Check out the quick sound clip.

As well that weekend there was a local autocross event at Portland International Raceway so I got up early and met my friends at the event for a day of fun.

The next big thing to come is I picked up a used set of 18 x 9.5 +15 Enkei RPF1's with worn out slicks on them and ordered some tires that will be going on Monday. So stay tuned and I will be updating the website as time goes on.

Once again the weather is nice so as I sign off don't forget to #GetOutAndDrive
