My 2014 Evo X Build Part II

So we left off and the car had minor tweaks done to it but was in a perfect state to just test it out and have some fun considering it is a new car it needs to be tested right? So I preceeded to have some fun with auto x. Which for anyone looking to dip their toes into the water of motorsports is a perfect outlet that is a blast and won't break the bank either.

Check out some clips of a few local auto-x events:

McKay Highschool in Salem

Salem Fairgrounds

Portland International Raceway (chucked a fun skid in this one)

Anyways I thouroughly enjoyed the car for these events even though it is a large heavy sedan with a ton of body roll it was still a blast to learn how to drive it on the edge and find the limits of a mostly stock car.

This last year some friends and I planned on running his ridiculous drag/daily driver mini van at Oregon's first ever Airstrip Attack however it blew up on the way up from California #BecauseRaceCar so we decided to enter the Evo X in its place for funsies.

This is the difference between a 30k econobox and a 230k supercar named the Huracan.

Regardless of being beat up by everything there it was an amazing event that I could not believe was real. The level of cars and builds you see at an event like this is like nothing else on the planet. Shift-S3ctor definitely provided ample amounts of motivation to continue working hard in school and work.

Just take a look at some of their videos on their YouTube channel and you'll get a small taste of what its like.

Anyways the summer was coming to an end and so were the stock Yokohama tires after 8000 miles of abuse. A couple of months after school started I decided to buy a set of tires for the rainy season and just daily driving in general. So I picked up a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evos from Discount Tires annual Ebay sale.
