The School Leadership Team will design intervention protocols based on the predictable areas of difficulty in academics and behavior.

The team will identify accompanying assessments and develop intervention entry rules to identify and place students into interventions quickly.

The team will also determine appropriate methods of maintaining the system.

Necessary Components:

• A team of stakeholders at the district and/or school level that functions to select and plan the intervention matrix
• A reliable, pre-selected, and well-defined data set that identifies common deficits in reading, math, and behavior for grade levels/spans
• A set of selection criteria for research-based reading and math interventions that ensures efficacy and takes local context into account
• An implementation plan that includes professional development, coaching, implementation and student outcome data collection and review
• Clear data rules regarding which students will be placed into intervention (i.e. Students below x level need immediate supplemental support in reading).
