It is with immense pride and joy that we present to you Volume 16, Issue 2 of the CLPT Newsletter. This edition continues our tradition of celebrating academic excellence, innovative research and the vibrant spirit of our Chalapathi community.
The past few months have been filled with milestones that reflect the dedication, talent and aspirations of our students, faculty and alumni. Among the most memorable highlights was the 6th Convocation Ceremony, a proud moment where academic journeys culminated in new beginnings. The occasion was marked by the presentation of Gold Medals to our outstanding students, a true recognition of their hard work and commitment to excellence.
This issue also brings to light a wide spectrum of activities that shaped our academic and cultural environment. Hands-on training programs and skill-based learning modules that empowered students with practical knowledge and industry readiness. Insightful sessions by eminent academicians and industry experts, broadening perspectives and inspiring innovative thought. Outreach Programs initiatives aimed at extending our knowledge and service beyond the campus, fostering a sense of social responsibility and community engagement. Campus Placements during this period opened new doors of opportunity for our graduating students. The Farewell Party for our IV/IV B. Pharmacy students was a heartfelt send-off, filled with cherished memories and a reminder of the lifelong bonds forged at CLPT. Faculty and student contributions in the form of research papers and book publications stood as testimony to our commitment to advancing pharmaceutical sciences.
This newsletter is not merely a record of events but a celebration of resilience, collaboration and vision. It showcases the collective effort of our community in shaping the future of pharmacy education and practice. We extend our deepest gratitude to every contributor—students, faculty, alumni and well-wishers, whose passion and hard work made these achievements possible. Campus Gazette:
The 6th Convocation Ceremony of CLPT on 12th July 2025 was a proud and memorable occasion, marking the culmination of academic journeys and the dawn of new beginnings for our graduating students. A major highlight of the event was the presentation of Gold Medals and Special Awards to students who excelled in academics, research and innovation. These recognitions stand as a testament to their perseverance, dedication and brilliance. The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries. Prof. Y.R. Haragopal Reddy, Professor and Advisor at ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education and Former Vice-Chancellor of ANU, addressed the gathering as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Posani Srinivasa Rao, Gastrointestinal Surgeon at Sravani Hospital, Guntur, inspired the graduating class with his words of wisdom. The event was presided over by Sri Y.V. Anjaneyulu, President and Sri Y. Sujith Kumar, Secretary of Chalapathi Educational Society, Guntur. The Principal and Heads of all Departments also took part, adding significance to this landmark occasion in the institute’s journey.
Ms. A. Uma Maheswari (B. Pharmacy, Batch 2021–2025) received the Sri. Y. V. Anjaneyulu Gold Medal for securing the Highest Marks/Grade. Ms. G. Venkata Vagdevi (Pharm. D, Batch 2019–2025) was honored with the Smt. Y. Anantha Kumari Gold Medal for securing the Highest Marks/Grade. Ms. M. Gayathri (5th Pharm. D, Batch 2021) received the Prof. K. Sambamurthy Innovation Award for the Best Innovative Product. Ms. D. Velangini Rani (B. Pharmacy, Batch 2021–2025) was awarded the Prof. S. Rangaswamy Research Award for securing the Highest Marks/Grade in Academic Project Presentation. Ms. P. Spoorthi Sree (Pharm.D, Batch 2019–2025) was awardedthe Prof. S. Rangaswamy Research Award for securing the Highest Marks/Grade in Academic Project Presentation. Mr. Venkata Bhuvaneswar (B. Pharmacy, Batch 2021–2025) received the Prof. K. Sambamurthy Innovation Award for the Best Innovative Product. These recognitions not only celebrate the academic and research excellence of our students but also inspire the entire CLPT community to aim higher and contribute meaningfully to the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
Career Guidance and Up Skilling Sessions
At CLPT, ups killing initiatives were meticulously designed to bridge classroom learning with hands-on experience, enabling students to gain valuable skills in pharmaceutical sciences.
During May 2025, several focused up skilling programs were conducted. Students of III/IV B. Pharmacy explored advanced laboratory and clinical practices through sessions such as Assessment of Cardiac Activity using NIBP Apparatus (01.05.2025), Dissolution Profile of Marketed Products of Conventional and Controlled Release Formulations (03.05.2025), Spectral Interpretation of Pharmaceutical Drugs by FT-IR (05.05.2025), Screening Methods of Diuretic Activity using Metabolic Cage (06.05.2025), Per Abdomen Examination (07.05.2025) and Protein Drug Binding (08.05.2025). They also gained exposure to Green Synthesis of Medicinal Compounds using Parallel Synthesizer (09.05.2025), Elimination Rate Constant Estimation by Statistical Approach (12.05.2025), Screening Methods for Analgesics (14.05.2025), Establishing a Drug and Poison Information Centre (15.05.2025) and Interpretation of Cranial Nerves (16.05.2025).
For II/IV B. Pharmacy students, specialized sessions included Estimation of Furosemide by UV-VIS Spectroscopy (01.05.2025), Preclinical Screening of Locomotor and Anti-anxiety Activity (13.05.2025 & 15.05.2025) and Blood Withdrawal Techniques in Laboratory Animals (13.05.2025 & 15.05.2025). Skill development activities were further enriched by software-based training for III/IV B. Pharmacy students, covering Drawing Structures and Reactions using ChemDraw/ChemSketch Software, Predicting Physicochemical Properties using Molinspiration and Drug-likeness Screening through Lipinski’s Rule of Five (13.05.2025). The institution also conducted the CLPT GPAT Mock Test 2025 for IV/IV B.Pharmacy students on 16.05.2025, providing them with a simulated experience to sharpen their competitive exam readiness. Students also showcased their academic spirit through Poster Presentations conducted for I/VI Pharm. D students (13.05.2025)
Moving into June 2025, students participated in sessions such as Analysis of Phytochemical Constituents by HPTLC (09.06.2025) and Medication Delivery: Eye Drops and Ear Drops (11.06.2025).
In August 2025, younger batches of students benefited from foundational training. I/IV B.Pharmacy students engaged in sessions on Study of Compound Microscope (06.08.2025), Filtration Techniques (08.08.2025), Corrections of Incompatibilities in Pharmaceutical Formulations (08.08.2025), Recrystallization of Organic Compounds (09.08.2025), Stethography: Recording of Normal and Modified Respiratory Movements (11.08.2025), Identification of Axial and Appendicular Bones (12.08.2025), Calibration of Glassware as per I.P. Specifications (13.08.2025), Estimation of Serum Uric Acid (18.08.2025), Effect of Posture, Gravity and Exercise on Blood Pressure and Heart Rate (19.08.2025), Introduction to Hemocytometer (20.08.2025), and Quantitative Estimation of Serum Bilirubin (21.08.2025). These diverse sessions reflected CLPT’s strong commitment to holistic learning, equipping students with advanced skills, critical thinking abilities and confidence to excel in both professional and research domains.
An informative session on higher education opportunities abroad was delivered by Mr. Ravi Chandra, Director, KC Overseas Education, Guntur, on 10.6.2025, for III/IV B.Pharmacy students. The session provided insights into global academic prospects and career pathways. A Career Kick Starter Programme on the Advanced Use of LinkedIn was conducted by FACE PREP Skill Development Company on 23.06.2025 for M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D students. The session was led by Ms. L. Siri Chandana and Ms. K. Varsha, Associate Trainers, who guided students on building a strong professional presence and networking effectively.
An interactive session on overseas education was organized for IV/IV B.Pharmacy students 11.08.2025. The resource person, Sri D. V. Swarna Kumar, Director, Phoenix Overseas, Guntur, shared valuable information on admission processes, scholarships and career opportunities abroad.

Mr. Venkata Ramesh Vanga, Branch Manager, IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd., Guntur, addressed IV/IV B.Pharmacy students in a session focused on pursuing higher education in the USA and UK on 21.08.2025. The session highlighted academic opportunities, visa guidance, and career prospects in international education.
Commemorative Days
World Ovarian Cancer Day 08.05.2025
On the occasion of World Ovarian Cancer Day students prepared an informative leaflet and created an awareness video on Ovarian Cancer, focusing on the importance of spreading knowledge and supporting early detection.
World Hypertension Day 17.05.2025
An Awareness Programme was conducted by the Department of Pharmacy Practice in association with ISPOR India Amaravati Regional Chapter and ISPOR ANU Student Chapter at the General Medicine Department, Government General Hospital, Guntur. The program highlighted the theme: “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer.”
World Youth Skills Day 15.07.2025
On the eve of World Youth Skills Day, an Awareness Campaign and PowerPoint Presentation Competition were organized for students to highlight the importance of skill development and lifelong learning.
World Blood Donor Day – 14.06.2025
NSS Unit, in association with ISPOR India Amaravati Regional Chapter and IPA Lam Branch, organized an awareness programme on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. With the theme “Donate Blood, Make a Difference,” the programme emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation and its life-saving impact.
11th International Yoga Day – June 2025
Students and faculty actively participated in the 11th International Yoga Day (YOGANDRA) celebrations held at SRCM Heartfulness Meditation Centre, SVN Colony, Guntur, on 21.06.2025. On the eve of International Yoga Day, a drawing competition on the theme “Yoga – A Path to Inner Harmony” was conducted on 20.06.2025 and an elocution competition on “Yoga – Influence on Health” followed on 21.06.2025. A plantation programme "Neeru - Chettu" was also performed on this occasion. The celebrations reflected the spirit of this year’s global theme, “One Earth – One Health" Dr. K. Kondaiah, Amrutha Yoga Siskakula Seva Trust trained all the students.
PTSD Awareness Day – 27.06.2025
On the occasion of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Day, the Department of Pharmacy Practice organized a video presentation by Ms. T. Renu Sri, IV Pharm.D, highlighting the theme “Not All Wounds Are Visible.” The event aimed to sensitize students to mental health challenges and emphasize empathy towards affected individuals.
Kargil Vijay Diwas – 26.07.2025
To honor the valor and sacrifice of India’s armed forces, NSS Unit-I & II observed Kargil Vijay Diwas with the theme “Saluting Gallantry.” Students paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs, reinforcing patriotism and national pride.
World Hepatitis Day – 28.07.2025
On the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, IV Pharm.D students conducted an impactful awareness programme around the theme “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down.” The initiative focused on dispelling myths, spreading awareness about viral hepatitis, and stressing the importance of prevention through early detection and vaccination.

NSS Unit-I, in association with the Sports & Cultural Committee, organized the 79thIndependence Day Celebrations on 15th August 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who came together to honor the spirit of freedom and patriotism.

NSS Unit-I celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas 2025 with NSS volunteers, spreading the message of peace, harmony, and goodwill among students and the community.

Guest lectures, Workshops, Seminars, Faculty training & Faculty Development Programmes
As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthen faculty expertise in advanced instrumentation, analytical techniques, and research innovation, a series of hands-on training programs, workshops and guest lectures were organized between May and August 2025.
The initiatives began on 3rd May 2025 with a Hands-on Training on Design of Experiments (DoE) conducted by Dr. Santosh, Assistant General Manager, AET Labs, Hyderabad, enhancing statistical and research optimization skills. On 16th May 2025, the "Installation and Demonstration of the Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D Printer" was conducted under the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, encouraging innovation and modern prototyping. This was followed by a Training and Demonstration on the NEW WATERS ALLIANCE RP-HPLC on 2nd June 2025, providing faculty exposure to advanced chromatographic applications.
On 5th June 2025, Upskilling and Research Methodology Sessions were conducted on anti-inflammatory screening methods and the application of computational tools such as PyRx Vina and Discovery Studio Visualizer. Further strengthening analytical expertise, Mr. Ram Kumar, Senior Service Executive, TA WATERS India, Hyderabad, delivered a "Hands-on Demonstration on Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC - TA WATERS Q20)" on 11th June 2025. A two-day "Shimadzu HPLC Training" on 18th–19th June 2025 by Dr. P.V. Suresh focused on separation and estimation of Withanolide-A and Withaferin-A.
Expanding on modern tools, a Faculty Training Programme on Advancements in Drug Design integrating analytical instrumentation, QbD-driven software and molecular docking was held from 18th June to 7th July 2025, while a "Skill Development Program on Pharmacovigilance" for I/II M.Pharmacy students was conducted from 2nd–7th July 2025. On 5th J uly 2025, Dr. Anupma Harshal Wadavlikar, University of Mumbai, led a workshop on "How to Read Scientific Literature – Tools and Techniques".
Further, Mr. M. Siva Prasad, CLPT, delivered a session on 7th July 2025 covering "Gas Chromatography (GC) Analysis of Drugs and Medical Device Regulations". A guest lecture on "The Importance of Organic Chemistry in Drug Design" was delivered on 14th July 2025 by Dr. N. Srinivasulu, V.L. College of Pharmacy, Raichur.
A major highlight was the Faculty Development Programme on "Modern Pharmaceutical Equipment for Drug Delivery Applications", held from 21st–31st July 2025. The FDP included hands-on demonstrations of a 3D printer (22nd July), spherules preparation using extrusion and spheronization (23rd July), tablet compression (25th & 26th July), dissolution apparatus (27th July), and particle size analysis (28th July). On 29th July 2025, Dr. Keerthi Ganne, MS OBG Consultant, Sreshta Hospital, Guntur, delivered a motivational guest lecture on "Healing with her Power: Empowering Women in Pharmaceutical Health Care" for students and faculty.
The momentum continued into August with an "Advanced Training in Computer-Aided Drug Design and AI Applications in Pharma R&D" conducted by Dr. Lavanyasri Rathinavel, Aspire Tech Park, Kerala, from 6th–8th August 2025. This program benefited 123 students and 9 faculty members. Additionally, the IQAC organized a series of webinars on modern teaching practices:
12th August 2025: Transforming Learning through Modern Teaching Approaches by Dr. Prasanna Sagar,Orbicular Pharma, Hyderabad.
13th August 2025: Enhancing Teaching Effectiveness by Dr. Neeraj Upamanyu, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Saze University, Bhopal.
14th August 2025: Innovative Teaching Strategies for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Education by Dr. K. Suresh Babu, IICT Hyderabad.
Further academic enrichment included a guest lecture on Pharmaceutical Chemistry by Dr. Vijay Kotra, QUEST International University, Malaysia, on 20th August 2025, followed by two impactful webinars on 23rd August 2025: Eco Pharma – Green Pathways for a Sustainable Future by Prof. K. Sunita, ANU, Guntur and Recent Research Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences with Advances in Novel Drug Delivery Systems by Dr. Prasanna Sagar, Orbicular Pharma, Hyderabad.
Concluding the quarter, on 30th August 2025, Dr. S. Nageswara Rao, Aditya University, Surampalem, delivered a lecture on GPAT 2026 and Beyond – Futuristic Approaches to Preparation and Career Advancement, inspiring both students and faculty to excel in competitive examinations.
Awareness programmes:
A Comprehensive Health Assessment was conducted on 30th June 2025 by Dr. Harika, DNB, Aster Ramesh Hospitals, Guntur, providing students and staff with valuable medical check-ups at CLPT.
Under the theme “Stay Informed, Stay Safe,” monthly "Drug Safety Alert" leaflets are being developed by CIPS–AMC at Government General Hospital, Guntur. Released on 22nd July 2025, these leaflets highlight information on commonly used medicines and alerts issued by IPC-PvPI, aiming to create awareness among patients and healthcare professionals about potential drug-related risks and to promote safe medicine use.
On 22nd July 2025, a "Fire Safety Awareness and Practical Training Session" was conducted for I/IV B. Pharmacy students by Mr. N. Sambasiva Rao, Kishore Fire Works, Guntur, focusing on the effective use of fire extinguishers.
As part of environmental initiatives, NSS Unit-I organized a Slogan Writing Competition on Plastic Awareness on 14th August 2025. A total of 105 students actively participated, showcasing creativity and commitment to environmental protection. Winners were appreciated and honored with prizes.
Industrial Visits
Students from V & VI Pharm. D visited MA Advanced Diagnostic & Research Centre, Guntur on 08 & 09.07.2025 as part of their clinical field exposure. The visit aimed to provide hands-on learning of advanced diagnostic technologies like CT, MRI, abdominal ultrasound (USG) of both adult and fetus and 3D imaging, effectively linking classroom knowledge with real-time clinical applications.
Extracurricular activities
28th & 29th June 2025: Students actively participated in the Susheela Devi Thipsay Memorial All India Under-19 Open Chess Tournament 2025, organized by SACW Academy in collaboration with The Andhra Pradesh Chess Association.
16th July 2025: As part of the sports events, a Shotput competition (Men & Women) was conducted for all the students.
29th July 2025:The NSS Unit, Women’s Cell, Sports & Cultural Committee and EAGLE Club jointly organized a Chess Training Session by Mr. Gopinath at the Open Auditorium, CLPT. The session engaged I/IV and II/IV B. Pharmacy students (21) and 02 faculty members.
30th July 2025: The NSS Orientation Programme for new volunteers of NSS Unit-I was held, with the participation of I/IV B. Pharmacy and I/VI Pharm. D students (104) along with 01 faculty member.
29th–30th July 2025: In addition, a Debate Challenge was conducted by the EAGLE Club, NSS, Women’s Cell and Sports & Cultural Committee, involving I/IV B. Pharmacy, I/VI and III/VI Pharm. D students (33 participants).
Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm on 26th August 2025. Students and faculty came together to worship Lord Ganesha, marking the occasion with traditional rituals and prayers. The celebrations reflected cultural vibrancy, fostering a spirit of togetherness and positivity across the campus.

Awards and Achievements
Exemplary performance of our students in competitive exams
We are delighted to share the exceptional accomplishments of our students in prestigious national and state-level competitive examinations, reflecting their academic excellence and unwavering dedication.
In the GPAT Examination 2025, Ms. Tanuja Bhagya Sri distinguished herself with an outstanding All India Rank (AIR) 181. She was closely followed by Ms. A. Uma Maheswari (AIR 932) and Mr. Ch. Veera Mohan Reddy (AIR 1384). Further commendable performances include Mr. V. Phanindra (AIR 2453), Mr. R. Lakshmipathi (AIR 3897), Mr. R. Balaraju (AIR 4607), Ms. S. Chandini (AIR 5446) and Mr. P. Vinay Kumar (AIR 5694).
Equally inspiring was the performance of our students in the AP PGECET 2025. Ms. A. Uma Maheswari brought laurels to the institute by securing the 1st Rank, while Ms. J. Tanuja Bhagya Sri earned the 7th Rank. Other notable achievers include Mr. Ch. Veera Mohan (25th Rank), Ms. D. Velangini Rani (42nd Rank), Ms. K. Lakshmi Sai (64th Rank) and Ms. B. Thanuja (99th Rank).
Our students also excelled in the NIPER Examination 2025, with Ms. J. Tanuja Bhagya Sri once again making us proud by achieving AIR 119, followed by Mr. M. Guna Shankar (AIR 320). Further commendable ranks were secured by Ms. V. Tejaswini (AIR 1978), Ms. P. Deepika (AIR 2526), Mr. P. Sharan Jyothi (AIR 4283), and Mr. M. Ganesh (AIR 6091).
These accomplishments are a true reflection of the perseverance, talent and determination of our students, ably guided by the constant mentorship and support of our esteemed faculty. Their success not only adds glory to the institution but also inspires future aspirants to strive for excellence.
Honoring a COVID-19 Hero
On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day (14th June 2025), Mr. Rajinikanth was honored by the Health Minister, Sri Satya Kumar Yadav, in recognition of his dedicated and life-saving services during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. His selfless contribution stands as an inspiration for future generations.
Intercollegiate Achievement
Mr. R. Balaraju (IV/IV B.Pharmacy) secured the 2nd Prize in the Essay Writing Competition on the theme The Importance of Protecting Nature for Future Generations in the Intercollegiate competition organized by the NSS Unit of TJPS College, Guntur, on the eve of World Nature Conservation Day.
