21st Annual Day Celebrations – A Tribute to Academic Excellence and Visionary Leadership
On 13th March 2025, Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated a momentous occasion—the 21st Annual Day—with great fervour and distinction. The grand celebration, held at 2:00 PM, brought together academic brilliance, institutional legacy, and future aspirations under one roof.
The event was honoured by the presence of distinguished dignitaries from the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare sector and cultural spheres. Shri Veera Narayana Addagadda, Senior General Manager at NATCO Pharma Limited, served as the Chief Guest and commended the institution's relentless pursuit of academic excellence and innovation. Co-Chief Guest Shri S.V.S. Lakshmi Narayana, INTACH Convenor for Guntur and Andhra Pradesh, captivated the audience with his insights on the convergence of heritage, culture, and education.
Among the Special Guests was Dr. K. Vijaya Lakshmi, District Medical & Health Officer, Guntur, who emphasized the growing need for collaboration between public health systems and academic institutions. The Guests of Honour included:

The Annual Day celebration was a vibrant reflection of the institute’s dedication to nurturing excellence, celebrating accomplishments and fostering a culture of progress. It was an inspiring platform to acknowledge the outstanding academic achievements of students from B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy, and Pharm.D programmes for the academic year 2023–2024.
Academic Excellence Awards
Sri Y.V. Anjaneyulu Gold Medal was awarded to Ms. Nookala Vimala (IV/IV B.Pharmacy) for emerging as the overall topper of the programme.
Dr. Usha Agarwal Trust Awards honoured Ms. Pinninti Triveni Priya (I/IV), Ms. Guna Lalitya (II/IV), Ms. Jagarlamudi Tanuja Bhagyasri (III/IV) and Ms. Devineni Krishna Tulasi (IV/IV B.Pharmacy) for their top-ranking performance in respective years.
Prof. V. Subba Rao Memorial Awards were presented to Ms. Kummara Indralekha (I/II) and Mr. Penumudi Sudheer Kumar (II/II M.Pharmacy – Pharmaceutics) for securing the highest SGPA in their semesters.
Sir Prafulla Chandra Ray Memorial Awards recognized Ms. Mohammad Shafiya Parveen (I/II) and Mr. Amudala Manoj Babu (II/II M.Pharmacy – Pharmaceutical Analysis) for their exemplary academic results.
Sir Ram Nath Chopra Memorial Awards were awarded to Ms. Kolli Sridevi (I/II) and Ms. Gundimeda Bhavana (II/II M.Pharmacy – Pharmacology) for outstanding academic excellence.
Prof. B.M. Mithal Memorial Awards were presented to Ms. Baadaravada Tejaswi (I/II) and Mr. Yaparla Srihith Roy (II/II M.Pharmacy – Regulatory Affairs).
Sri R. Prasada Rao Memorial Award was awarded to Ms. Rangu Naga Harshitha Devi (I/VI Pharm.D),
Dr. R. Jagadeesh Babu Award went to Ms. Alagara Gnana Aswini (II/VI Pharm.D).

Special Recognition Awards – 2023–2024
The Prof. M.L. Schroff Memorial Award for Best NSS Volunteer was bestowed upon Ms. Pinninti Triveni Priya and Mr. Vilasarapu Siva Manikanta (II/IV B.Pharmacy), Ms. Anagani Bhaya Sri (IV/IV B.Pharmacy), and Mr. Pandrakula Tharun Sai (IV/VI Pharm.D), for their commendable dedication to community service.
The Dr. Nannapaneni Venkayya Chowdary Award for Best Student in Clinical Activities (ADR Reporting) was presented to Ms. Ikkurti Tirumala Naga Sai Shalini (VI/VI Pharm.D) for her exceptional contribution to pharmacovigilance.
The Prof. Harikishan Singh Memorial Distinguished Alumni Award – 2024 was awarded to Dr. K. Srikanth Kumar (B.Pharmacy, 2005–2009 batch) in honour of his significant professional contributions and continued support to the institution.
Skill Development courses
In line with our commitment to providing industry-relevant and research-oriented education, several Skill Development Courses were conducted across various departments to strengthen core competencies among pharmacy students.
Scientific literacy and research interpretation, a Skill Development Course on Reading and Understanding the Primary Research Paper was held from 6th to 10th April 2025 for IV/IV B.Pharmacy students. The course emphasized critical analysis, data interpretation, and evidence-based understanding of original scientific literature—essential skills for budding researchers and healthcare professionals.
Additionally, in a significant step towards nurturing entrepreneurship in pharmacy practice, the Department of Pharmacy Practice, in collaboration with CLPT’s Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJAK), successfully conducted a Community Pharmacy Entrepreneurship Skill Development Course from 15th to 19th April 2025. This initiative empowered students with practical knowledge on the functioning of community pharmacies, regulatory aspects, and entrepreneurial strategies crucial for running Janaushadhi Kendras and promoting affordable healthcare access.
These initiatives reflect CLPT’s dedication to equipping students with the specialized skills required to thrive in dynamic healthcare and pharmaceutical landscapes.
Diploma in Advanced Analytical Techniques with Practical Applications: 19th-20th February 2025
The Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis successfully conducted a two-day hands-on training session on Good Weighing Practices as part of the Diploma in Advanced Analytical Techniques with Practical Applications on 19th and 20th February 2025. The program was designed to enhance the practical skills of students and professionals in precision weighing techniques, ensuring accuracy and compliance with analytical standards.

Career Guidance and Up Skilling Sessions at CLPT
Career Guidance on GPAT Exam Preparation and Soft Skills Development: IV/IV B.Pharmacy students attended an insightful session on GPAT exam preparation and soft skills development. The event was organized by the GPAT Coaching Cell and NDLI Club CLPT, in association with the GPAT Discussion Center, Bilaspur.
Up skilling Programme on Dry Emulsion Preparation using the spray drying technique was conducted for II/IV B.Pharmacy and II/VI Pharm.D students.
Upskilling Session on Sulphur Colloids for II/IV B. Pharmacy and II/VI Pharm. D..
On 06-01-2025, a practical session on interpreting electrocardiograms was conducted for 2nd-year B. Pharmacy students. On the same day, an up skilling session focusing on determining the partition coefficient of furosemide was held for II/IV B. Pharmacy and II/VI Pharm. D students. Also, students of II/IV B.Pharmacy (3rd Semester) participated in a session exploring the bactericidal effect of UV in the subject of Pharmaceutical Microbiology.
10-02-2025: An up skilling session titled "Writing an IAEC Proposal for Animal Studies" and "Preparation and Evaluation of Micro/ Nanoemulsions" was held for IV/IV B. Pharmacy and IV/VI Pharm. D students.
11-02-2025: IV/IV B. Pharmacy and IV/VI Pharm. D students attended a session on “Application of IR Spectrophotometry in Functional Group Analysis” and "Phlebotomy" .
17-02-2025: An up skilling session on the Administration of Drugs via I V, I M, and SC routes and a session on the Formulation of Ketoconazole Hydrogel for Topical Delivery Against Fungal Infection was also conducted for IV/IV B. Pharmacy and IV/VI Pharm. D students.
18-02-2025: IV/IV B. Pharmacy students engaged in a session on the Formulation of Hydrogels. Another session focused on the Determination of pKa of Paracetamol using UV-VIS Spectroscopy.
19-02-2025: A continued session on Determination of pKa of Paracetamol by UV-VIS Spectroscopy was held for IV/IV B. Pharmacy students.
20-02-2025: IV/IV B. Pharmacy students attended another session on Administration of Drugs via IV, IM, and SC routes.
17-02-2025 to 22-02-2025: Students Y. Poojitha and J. Tanuja Bhagya Sri (IV B. Pharmacy) participated in a DHR-sponsored offline training programme on “Traditional and Innovative Fusion: Preclinical Paradigms in Drug Discovery” (Module 4: AI & Cutting-Edge Techniques) at RIPER, Ananthapur, Andhra Pradesh.
06-03-2025 to 07-03-2025: IV/IV B. Pharmacy students attended a two-day session that included a Demonstration of DSC Analysis and Formulation of Transdermal Patch.
07-03-2025: An additional upskill programme on Transdermal Patch Formulation and DSC Demonstration was conducted for IV/IV B. Pharmacy students.
10-03-2025: A comprehensive session was held for II, IV/IV B. Pharmacy and II, IV/VI Pharm.D students on Extrusion and Spheronization Technique and Green Synthesis of Medicinal Compounds.
21-04-2025: III/IV B.Pharmacy students participated in a session on Formulation and Evaluation of Anti-Acne Cream and on Preparation and Standardization of Ashwagandha Lehyam for Neurological Disorders.
22-04-2025: A focused session on Neuropharmacological Research Techniques for Memory Enhancement was organized for III/IV B.Pharmacy students.
24-04-2025: An upskilling programme was conducted for III/IV B.Pharmacy students on the Fluidized Bed Processor Technique.
25-04-2025: A practical session on Isolation of Piperine from Black Pepper Using Microwave Synthesizer was held for III/IV B.Pharmacy students.
26-04-2025: Students attended an interactive session on Screening Techniques for Memory Enhancement Using Continuous Avoidance Response and Cook’s Pole Climbing Apparatus.
28-04-2025: An additional session on Phlebotomy was conducted for III/IV B.Pharmacy students.
The NSS Units I & II organized a community rally at Tadikonda village on the theme "Say No to Drugs." The event was inaugurated by Mr. M. Joji, Sub-Inspector of Police.
Commemorative days
03/01/2025: Pharm.D students from II, III, IV, V, and VI attended an event on Blood Donation & Organ Donation at Guntur Medical College, held in honor of the 194th birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, India's first female teacher and a pioneer of women's education and social reform. This event not only highlighted the importance of blood and organ donation but also celebrated the legacy of Savitribai Phule’s contributions to education and social change.
Remembering the sacrifice of Indian soldiers "Commemorate Pulwama Warriors"was organised by NSS UNIT -I&II of Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Lam, Guntur. All NSS Volunteers, students and staff were given tribute to them on 14-02-2025.
National science day was organized on 28/02/2025 with a theme of IDEATHON to show case the innovative ideas of the students. Dr. Malineni Perumallu Chairman, Malineni Educational Scociety., Guntur, acted as chief Guest, Mr. J. Santhosh, founder and CEO of Optic Third Eye Solutions, Guntur and Shri. Y. V. Anjaneyulu were the guest of Honour. Quiz was also organized by the Library NDLI CLUB of CLPT.
on the eve of Naational Pharmacy Education Day 06/03/2025, 123rd birth anniversary of Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff, elocution copetition was conducted with a theme "Empowering innovation: Future of Entrepreneurship, startups and incubation".
International women day 2025 was celebrated on 08/03/2025 with a theme "Accelerate Action to Collectively Forge a More Inclusive World for Women". Students were engaged to participate in Elocution on a frame work to women safety, pot painting ,Essay writing, poetry, caption writing and skit. Dr.V.Naga Lakshmi, Managing Director, IMIS Pharmaceuticals chaired the gathering and addressed the students.

Workshops, Seminars and Faculty Training Programmes
06/01/2025.: A one-day workshop on "Machine Learning Applications in Pharmacy and Drug Development" was organized by the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacology. The workshop aimed to explore the role of machine learning in advancing pharmaceutical research and drug development processes.
10-03-2025 : Interactive session on exploring student and faculty exchange program.
11-03-025. The 4th International Conference on “Transforming Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacoeconomics through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)” on 12th to 13th March 2025 was organized by Department of Pharmacy practice and Department of Pharmacology. the conference aimed to bridge the gap between pharmaceutical sciences and emerging digital technologies, setting a visionary path for future innovation in drug discovery, development, and cost-effective healthcare delivery. This prestigious event brought together global leaders, researchers and professionals to explore cutting-edge developments in pharma and healthcare technology. Chief Guests of the event are Dr. Ranjith Barshikar, CEO of QbD International & United Nations Advisor, Geneva, Dr. Ramana Yashaswi, Superintendent, Government General Hospital, Guntur. 24-04-2025: Dept of Pharmaceutical Analysis organized the Faculty Training Programme on Handling of Biochemical Analyzer.
Awareness Programmes
2nd Janary 2025 : An educational awareness programme was organized for Class X students from KVR ZPH School, Tulluru, where students were introduced to various analytical instruments and their applications in pharmaceutical sciences. The demonstration aimed to ignite scientific curiosity and career interest among young learners by offering hands-on exposure to laboratory equipment.
30th January 2025: A Health and Medical Awareness Programme was organized at Gujjanagundla Walking Track, Guntur. The event benefited 125 individuals and was led by V/VI and VI/VI Pharm.D students.
3rd February 2025: A Mass Cancer Awareness Programme was observed on campus to mark World Cancer Day, benefiting 179 participants.
4th February 2025: A Mega Cancer Awareness Rally was conducted in collaboration with Natco Cancer Center and Government General Hospital (GGH), Guntur. A total of 60 students .
10th February 2025: National Deworming Day was observed in coordination with the Department of Pediatrics, GGH, reaching 45 children with deworming support and awareness.
16th February 2025: A Home Medication Review activity was conducted at Malikarjuna Puram Colony, Guntur. This initiative involved 11 students and benefited 55 community members by reviewing their medication adherence and understanding.
24th March 2025: An E-Poster Presentation Competition was conducted at CLPT on the occasion of World TB Day, with 38 student participants creatively showcasing awareness messages related to tuberculosis.
25th March 2025: A World TB Day Awareness Programme was held, reaching 50 public beneficiaries with the active participation of 31 students who helped disseminate crucial information about TB prevention and treatment.
28th March 2025: An Awareness Programme on Dehydration was conducted at CLPT, which successfully reached 200 individuals with vital knowledge about the importance of hydration and prevention of dehydration-related illnesses.
3rd April 2025: A Dental Hygiene and Health Camp was held on campus, promoting oral health practices and offering dental checkups. A total of 77 individuals benefited from this event.
7th April 2025: An Awareness Programme on World Health Day was conducted with the involvement of 31 students, reaching 45 beneficiaries with health education on wellness and disease prevention.
17th April 2025: On World Hemophilia Day, an awareness programme was organized in collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics, GGH, Guntur. A total of 42 individuals received information and support related to hemophilia.
25th April 2025: An Awareness Programme on World Malaria Day was held at the Government General Hospital, Guntur, benefiting 55 participants with preventive strategies and education on malaria.
28th April 2025: The NSS Units I & II of CLPT organized a Community Awareness Rally in Tadikonda Village under the theme "Say No to Drugs." The event was inaugurated by Mr. M. Joji, Sub-Inspector of Police, emphasizing law enforcement’s role in curbing drug abuse.
Industrial Visits:
06-02-2025: II/IV B. Pharmacy students had an insightful and educational visit to Sangam Dairy. The visit provided a unique opportunity for students to observe firsthand the processes involved in dairy production, from quality control to packaging.
08-03-2025: As a part of Faculty training programme, few faculty visited Laila neutraceuticals, Vijayawada.
Extracurricular Activities
On 11th January 2025, the campus came alive with colours, tradition, and joy as Sankranthi was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Students and staff actively participated in various festive activities, including rangoli competitions, traditional games, and cultural performances, reflecting the spirit of the harvest festival. The celebration fostered a sense of community and cultural appreciation among all attendees.

Triumph at Milanostav-4.0 : A Celebration of Sportsmanship and Skill
We are thrilled to announce the commendable performance of our students at Milanostav-4.0, a prestigious intercollegiate sports fest held from 21st to 22nd February 2025 at CLPT. The event showcased the athletic spirit and competitive excellence of our students across various disciplines. Their hard work, determination and sportsmanship brought laurels to our institution. Campus placements
A campus placement drive by Divis Laboratories, Hyderabad was successfully conducted for pass outs from 2020 to 2024. The event was led by Mr. Rama Krishna from the HR Department. Job Description: The position offered was for a Trainee Supervisor in Quality Assurance (QA) and Regulatory Affairs (RA). 07/03/2025: 21 students were qualified in MedTech Hire Campus placement Drive for B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy and Pharm. D students for a role of medical documents review executive at Bengaluru and Hyderabad with a salary of 2.8 LPA .
Awards and achievements:
We are proud to announce that Ms. S. Chamanti (III/VI Pharm D) secured 2nd place in the Elocution Competition, earning a cash prize at the National Youth Day 2025 event held at Hindu College of Management, Guntur. Additionally, Ms. J. Nandini (IV/VI Pharm D) won the 3rd prize in the Essay Writing Competition, also receiving a cash prize for her outstanding performance. Congratulations to both students for their remarkable achievements!
Library news:
We are thrilled to announce the winners of the National Library Week Cover Page Challenge! This year’s competition was a great success, and we received an impressive collection of creative designs that celebrated the spirit of libraries and reading.
