The celebration of National Youth Day on on Friday, 12th January and the Republic Day on Friday, 26th January 2024 festivities underscore the vibrancy and commitment of academic institutions to fostering holistic development among students.
Recently, our institution had the privilege of receiving a shipment of analytical columns from Greyhound Chromatography, situated at 6 Kelvin Park, Birkenhead, CH41 1LT, United Kingdom.
This generous contribution forms a pivotal part of our ongoing analytical research endeavors. The provision of these columns was made possible through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established on February 15, 2024, solidifying our collaborative commitment to advancing scientific inquiry and innovation. An Interactive Session on Strategies for Enhancing Innovation/Entrepreneurship and Startups took place on Friday, 1st March 2024. It featured speakers like Dr. K.R.S Sambasiva Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Mangalayatan University, Jabalpur, and R. Siva Ram Prasad from the Department of Commerce & Business Administration, ANU, among others.
The session was attended by faculty members numbering 69 from CLPT & CIET. This Interactive Session further reinforces the evolving role of academia in shaping future leaders and innovators. By providing platforms for dialogue and exchange, institutions pave the way for transformative ideas and collaborations to flourish .
Central to these endeavors is PHARMA ANVESHAN 2024, a poignant tribute to the visionary Prof. M.L. Schroff, whose legacy continues to inspire generations of pharmaceutical scholars was held on 6th March 2024. This convention aimed at leveraging synergies between industry and academia, crucial for the successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This policy emphasizes a holistic and integrated approach to education, aiming to transform both the structure and content of education in India.
Workshops:
A workshop titled "Emerging Trends and Techniques in Drug Development Using Computational Methods" was organized jointly by the Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis and the Alumni Association. The workshop targeted B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D students and took place from January 23 to January 25, 2024. Mr. Ramakrishna Meduri, a Research Associate in Neuroscience at George Mason University, USA, served as the resource person for the workshop.

In a bid to enrich the academic experience and provide students with firsthand insights into the latest advancements in pharmaceutical sciences, a series of enlightening guest lectures were.
The first lecture, held on Monday, 29th January 2024, delved into "Novel Techniques in LC-MS/MS Analysis" and was conducted by Mr. K. Madhusudan, Director of Kshetra Analyticals, Hyderabad. Attended by and four faculty members 124 students from IV/IV B. Pharmacy, III/VI Pharm. D, and I/II M. Pharmacy, the session offered invaluable insights into cutting-edge analytical methodologies shaping the field.
Continuing the trend of insightful lectures, on Monday, 12th February 2024, Mrs. M. Lokeshwari, Scientific Manager at Aragen Life Sciences, Hyderabad, delivered a lecture on the "Role of Preclinical Screening in Research and Development." Hosted online via Zoom, the lecture attracted twelve faculty members and 180 students from various pharmacy disciplines, providing a comprehensive overview of the pivotal role preclinical screening plays in pharmaceutical research.
Diving into a fascinating exploration of emotional intelligence in pharmaceutical research, a guest lecture titled "Something Deeply Hidden on Meatcognition (Based on Emotional Intelligence)" was held on Wednesday, 21st February 2024. Conducted by Mr. L. Jayachandra Raju, CEO of Mind Your Phantoms, the lecture engaged ten faculty members and 156 students from multiple pharmacy batches, shedding light on the intricate interplay between emotions and cognitive processes in drug development.
As the month drew to a close, a captivating lecture on "Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat" was organized on the eve of NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY. Facilitated by P. Ratna Geeta, Former Principal of Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Guntur, the lecture garnered the attendance of nine faculty members and 160 students. Focusing on indigenous technological innovations, the session underscored the significance of harnessing local expertise for national development.

Training and awareness programs:
In a bid to promote awareness and education on various healthcare and societal issues, the institute has been actively organizing a series of impactful programs and initiatives throughout January and February 2024.
Commencing on January 9, 2024, the institute conducted an awareness program on the "JN-1 Variant," shedding light on the importance of understanding emerging variants of pathogens.
Following this, on February 10, 2024, on the occasion of National Deworming Day, a collaborative effort with the Department of Pediatrics, Govt. General Hospital Guntur, aimed at empowering communities to combat Soil-Transmitted Helminth (STH) infections.
Moreover, students and faculty engaged in cleanliness drives, skill development sessions, and disease awareness programs throughout the months of January and February. Notable events included a Faculty Development Program on January 29, 2024, aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education.
The commitment of faculty members to professional development, as evidenced by their participation in the BASIC FIRST AID TRAINING COURSE, organized by Indian Red Cross Society, Guntur District Branch at IRCS Building, Guntur on 21st January 2024, reflects a dedication to not only academic excellence but also the well-being of the broader community.
Demonstration on Gas Chromatography on January 22, 2024, was conducted providing practical insights for pharmaceutical research.
Emphasizing community service, the institute organized special camps led by NSS units, addressing issues such as girl child education, maternal health, and medication awareness in rural areas. These camps took place from February 16 to February 22, 2024, led by Dr. J. V. Sudheer Kumar and Dr. Ravi Sankar Reddy, and from February 26 to March 3, 2024, spearheaded by Dr. Ravi Shankar Reddy and Dr. J. V. Sudheer Kumar.
Furthermore, the institute actively participated in national observances such as World Cancer Day on February 5, 2024, National Science Day on February 28, 2024, and Maternal Health Awareness Day on January 23, 2024, promoting awareness and indigenous technology.

Continuing the series, an awareness session on career guidance focusing on Abroad Education and the OET Exam was conducted on February 7, 2024, by Mr. Sujith, a Global Expert, and Mr. Vamsi Sudhakar Konnoju from Academically Global Healthcare Academy. Students were provided with insights into career opportunities and skill requirements in the pharmaceutical sector. Ninety-seven students from IV/IV B. Pharmacy, VI/VI Pharm. D, and II/II M. Continuing the trend of facilitating placements, on Saturday, 6th April 2024, a Pool Campus Placement Drive was organized with the participation of Mr. Anjan, HR Manager from Medi Assist TPA. D students had the chance to interact with industry professionals and explore job opportunities in the healthcare sector. 16 students secured placements with an average income of 2.6 lakhs per annum.

Moreover, on Monday, 29th April 2024, Divi's Laboratories, Hyderabad, conducted a Campus Placement Drive exclusively for IV/IV B. Pharmacy, II/II M. Pharmacy, and VI/VI Pharm. D students. The event, held at the seminar hall, provided students with firsthand exposure to the recruitment process and potential career paths within the pharmaceutical industry. This unique event aimed not only to foster artistic expression but also to raise awareness about the critical issue of maternal health
March 8 marks International Women's Day, a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. In honor of this significant day, a series of empowering events were organized for all girl students, fostering creativity, expression, and empowerment . The day commenced with a unique Scrap Art competition, challenging participants to transform everyday waste materials into works of art. From discarded newspapers to used plastic bottles, students showcased their ingenuity and resourcefulness, turning trash into treasures. The Scrap Art competition not only highlighted the importance of environmental sustainability but also encouraged creativity and innovation among participants.
Following the Scrap Art competition, students were invited to participate in an essay writing contest, providing them with a platform to articulate their thoughts and opinions on issues affecting women and girls globally. The essays were a powerful reflection of the students' perspectives, addressing topics such as gender equality, women's rights, and the importance of female empowerment in society.
In addition to the essay writing contest, an elocution competition was also held, giving students the opportunity to hone their public speaking skills and express themselves confidently on stage. Participants delivered impassioned speeches on topics ranging from women's leadership to gender-based violence, inspiring their peers with their eloquence and conviction.
These events not only celebrated the achievements of women but also empowered girl students to raise their voices and advocate for change. By providing platforms for creativity and expression, the International Women's Day celebrations encouraged students to become active agents of positive transformation in their communities.
On the 12th of January 2024, the campus came alive with the vibrant energy of the Youth Unite Programme, organized in collaboration with the Hurtfulness Institute. This event brought together students and faculty members in a collective effort to promote unity, compassion, and social responsibility among the youth. In addition to the Youth Unite Programme, the NSS units I & II of Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences hosted Essay Writing and Elocution competitions on the same day, in celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi, also known as National Youth Day.
