Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences recently hosted the 17th Pharma Science Exhibition on the 2nd and 3rd of August, 2024, marking yet another successful chapter in its tradition of fostering academic excellence and industry collaboration. The event attracted a vibrant mix of students, faculty, and industry professionals, all eager to engage with the latest advancements in pharmaceutical sciences.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Acharya Nagarjuna University's in-charge Vice-Chancellor, Dr. K. Gangadhar, and MLC Mr. Lakshman Rao, who served as the event's chief guests. In his keynote address, Dr. Gangadhar stressed the need for students to evolve into scientists and entrepreneurs, emphasizing their potential to drive societal progress. Echoing this sentiment, Mr. K. Lakshman Rao highlighted India’s rich heritage in Ayurvedic and pharmaceutical products, positioning the nation as a formidable force in the global pharmaceutical industry. The event was further enriched by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Mr. E. Durga Prasad, General Manager of Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions, Mr. G. Chandrashekhar, Secretary of Guntur Chemist and Druggist Association, Dr. Sharma, Director of Narayana Educational Institutions, Sri Y.V. Anjaneyulu, Chairman of Chalapathi Educational Society and Principal of Chalapthi Institute Prof. Rama Rao Nadendla.
This year’s exhibition stood out as a beacon of innovation, with 236 exhibits showcasing cutting-edge research, innovative drug formulations, and emerging healthcare technologies. The participation of 552 students demonstrated their research prowess and creativity, offering a glimpse into the future of pharmaceutical sciences. The exhibition also served as an educational journey for the broader student community, drawing in a total of 5,400 students from 82 different schools. These young minds, visiting the exhibition, had the opportunity to explore the diverse range of projects on display, sparking their interest in the field and encouraging a new generation of scientific inquiry and discovery.
Pharma Science Exhibition was concluded with a grand valedictory function, celebrating the exceptional innovations showcased during the event. The function was graced by notable figures, including Professor P.V. Krishna from the Zoology Department of Acharya Nagarjuna University, Dr. D.E. Srinivas Rao, Dean of Narayana Educational Institutions, Dr. Sai Ram, Zoology Lecturer at Narayana College, and Y. Sujith Kumar, Secretary of the College.

Guntur, August 10, 2024 — The ISPOR National Conference on Antimicrobial Stewardship & Its Clinical Appraisal 2024 commenced with a highly informative Session 1 on "Anti-Bacterial Categorisation & Clinical Applications." The session, held in association with ISPOR Amaravathi, featured an expert presentation by Dr. Gowtham, Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at HCG Cancer Hospital, Bangalore. Dr. Gowtham's session provided an in-depth analysis of the categorization of antibacterial agents and their clinical applications, emphasizing the critical role of antimicrobial stewardship in contemporary healthcare. He discussed the challenges associated with antibiotic resistance, the importance of appropriate drug selection, and the latest advancements in antibacterial therapies. His insights were well-received by the audience, which included healthcare professionals, researchers, and students.
Dr. B.V. Sathish Kumar, Civil Surgeon and Resident Medical Officer at Government General Hospital, Guntur, graced the session as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Sathish Kumar highlighted the significance of ongoing education and awareness in combating antimicrobial resistance, underscoring the need for collaborative efforts between medical professionals and the pharmaceutical industry. The session marked a successful beginning to the conference, setting the tone for subsequent discussions on antimicrobial stewardship and its clinical impact. Attendees left with a deeper understanding of the subject and an enhanced commitment to applying these principles in their practice.
On August 13, 2024, the NSS Units I & II organized the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a flagship program under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to promote a drug-free India. The campaign saw active participation from NSS volunteers, students, and faculty members, all of whom gathered to show their commitment to the cause. The participants took a solemn pledge to contribute to making the country drug-free, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in combating substance abuse. The event highlighted the critical role that educational institutions play in shaping a healthier society. By engaging young minds in such initiatives, the Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences continues to uphold its commitment to social responsibility and national welfare. The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan at the institute was a significant step towards spreading the message of a drug-free India, reinforcing the importance of awareness and action in the fight against drug addiction. 20/08/2024: U. August 15, 2024 — Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences marked the 77th Independence Day with a vibrant and patriotic celebration on campus. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff to honor the nation’s freedom and reflect on the sacrifices of those who fought for it. The day began with the hoisting of the national flag by the institute’s chairman and principal, followed by the singing of the national anthem. The campus was adorned with tricolors, creating a festive atmosphere that resonated with pride and unity.

From 23/05/2024 to 01/06/2024, our students engaged in intensive hands-on training focused on method development using RP-HPLC. This session encompassed comprehensive training in sample preparation techniques, precise equipment handling, and meticulous RP-HPLC data interpretation. Led by experienced analytical chemists, participants acquired essential skills vital for advanced pharmaceutical analysis and research.
On 29/05/2024, students delved into the critical aspects of maintaining a laboratory animal house facility and mastering preclinical screening techniques. This session underscored ethical standards in animal research, facility management protocols, and advanced methodologies in preclinical screening. Led by experts in pharmacology and animal sciences, the training equipped participants with foundational knowledge essential for conducting rigorous and ethical preclinical studies.
From 25/06/2024 to 26/06/2024, first and fourth-year B. Pharmacy students immersed themselves in a skill development program centered on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Facilitated by experts in pharmacy law and patenting, this program explored patenting processes, patent searches, and the legal nuances of IPR in the pharmaceutical sector. Participants gained valuable insights into safeguarding intellectual assets, fostering innovation, and navigating the complexities of pharmaceutical patents.
World Hypertension Day - 2024

Their initiative aimed to educate the public about hypertension, emphasizing the importance of accurate blood pressure measurement, effective control strategies, and the impact on longevity. This event highlighted the critical role of pharmacists in managing hypertension and promoting cardiovascular health.
World Preeclampsia Day - 2024

The initiative focused on raising awareness about preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication, among expectant mothers and healthcare professionals. The session emphasized early detection, management strategies, and the importance of prenatal care in reducing maternal and fetal risks.
