Apple STEM Fun Day

Eating Apples

Students had a ton of fun trying a bunch of different apple tasts.

They tried real apple pies, and then made their own apple pie in a cup.

They compared them and told us which ones they liked better.

They tried apple juice and apple cider, and told us which one they liked better.

We had such a great time eating apple flavored treats~

Krystina and Alonso tasting apples.

Mason, Maxton, Kennedy, and Mia enjoying some apple treats.

Noah, Japhen, Ilyia, and Saifuddin having fun with apple juice.e

Cannon, Lucas, and Alanna enjoying some tasty apple beverages.

Apple Structures

By using apples and toothpicks, students would try to build tall towers.

Students had to plan and predict how many pieces they would use, and how tall it would be.

Then they used apple pieces and toothpicks to build apple towers.

Eesa, Lucas, Alanna, and Cannon planning their apple structures.

Maxton, Kennedy, Mason, and Mia building towers with apples.

Prince, Christiana, and Jazion building with apples.

Noah and Ilyia having fun making giant towers out of apple pieces and toothpicks.

Apple Baskets

Students had to make a basket using various STEM items that would hold at least one apple.

They had so much fun making predictions and plans, then trying to build their basket and test it out!

One of friends exhausted from all of the Apple festivities.

Maxton, Kennedy, Mia, and Mason learning about Apple Baskets.

Planning our baskets with Ilyia, Japhen, Saifuddin, and Noah

Building an apple basket with Christiana, Jazion, and Prince.

Learning how to use pipe cleaners to build with Alonso and Krystina.

Apple Goop

One of our apple rotations for our Apple STEM Fun Day was Apple Goop.

Apple Goop was made using Apple Sauce, corn starch, cinnamon, and a bowl. Check out how much fun they had!

Lucas, Eesa, and Cannon playing with Apple Goop

Krystina and Karter with Apple Goop.

Maxton, Mason, Kennedy, and Mia having fun with Apple Goop.

Jazion, Christiana, and Prince learning about Apple Goop.

Will it Sink or Will if Float

We made predictions on whether or not an apple will sink or float.

Then we conducted our experiment to see if an apple will sink or float.

Alanna, Kennedy, and Maxton seeing if an apple will sink or float.

Krystina, Prince, and Jazion seeing if an apple will sink or float.

Christiana and Lucas seeing if an apple will sink or float.

Noah, Eesa, and Mia seeing if an apple will sink or float.

Alonso, Saifuddin, and Mason seeing if an apple will sink or float.

Ilyia seeing if an apple will sink or float.

Cannon seeing if an apple will sink or float.

Saifuddin and Mason seeing if an apple will sink or float.

How Many Apples Tall Are You?

Today we had fun measuring with apples.

Each student got to use apples to measure with, and then count how many apples tall each students were.

Students were typically 17 to 18 apples tall.

They had so much fun using apples to measure.
