Curriculum
Journeys: Literacy Curriculum
Journey's is the curriculum the school has purchased. We will use journeys typically two days a week. I typically like to start off the week using Journeys and then move into Rooted in Reading.
All of our end of unit assessments will come from Journeys.
Rooted in Reading
To add additional rigor to the Journey's curriculum, I have chose to add the curriculum Rooted in Reading. The grammar aligns perfectly with Journeys, but it adds additional resources that can help to enhance the Kindergarten experience. We will use Rooted in Reading two times a week, and then Friday, will be our catch up day in Literacy.
Writer's Workshop
To continue to add additional rigor to our Kindergarten experience, we will be using Writing Throughout the Year for our Writer's Workshop. Writing Throughout the Year helps to teach students how to write narratives, how-tos, and informative essays.
Go Math: Math Curriculum
Go Math is the curriculum the school has purchased to be used within the classroom. Go Math is very hands on and provides virtual lessons and videos to help students understand the mathematical concepts.
