Youth, Purpose, and Partnership (YPP)

Description: Located in Roxbury, Youth, Purpose & Partnership (YPP) activates young people of color ages 14 to 18 to be change agents in their communities by influencing peers and community leaders – including law enforcement – in real, powerful, and engaging social change initiatives. Cohorts of young people – called Peer Leaders – are hired during the school year and summer months, learn about historic racial and equity issues impacting local communities and communities of color across the country, develop and harness leadership, communication, technology, and job skills to create meaningful change for future individual success in the classroom and in the workforce and for the success of their communities. YMCA Youth & Government

Description: YOUTH & GOVERNMENT is a national program which teaches young people the steps to make social change happen. This program allows youth to think of ways on how to improve their town, city or state. Students participate in a Model Government Conference by acting as a Senator, House Representative, Lobbyist, Judge, Lawyer, Journalist and more. Delegates receive training in these positions through weekly meetings and special training events prior to the conference. Youth have the opportunity to meet with other young people in the New England region who they may not know otherwise. Join the Greater Boston Delegation today!
