Description: The Leadership Corps (LC) at Youth Enrichment Services (YES) offers Boston teens (grades 9-12) the opportunity to develop their leadership potential as they participate in and coach outdoor activities. Teens participate in workshops and trainings and put those skills into practice through volunteering with YES’s ski & snowboard rental shop and supporting snow sports trips for kids.
Teen leaders participate in snow sports training: downhill skiing, downhill snowboarding, or cross-country skiing (teens who are new to snow sports are welcome!). Other benefits include:

Description: The Junior Achievement (JA) company program is an after-school program where students create their own business/start-up with the guidance of local business mentors. Students can use tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers, T shirt screen printers, and more to create their products.
Commitment/Cost: Free!
Weekly 2-hour sessions on the same day each week, from the week of October 20 through April 13th (no meetings during holidays or school vacations). Expect to spend some time outside of meetings working on your company’s success!

Description: Specializing in an area of the performing arts (dance, music, or acting) to use the arts for social change in their communities. Teen Leaders will work collaboratively to create an original performance presented as a Final Showcase, and arts-based interactive workshops on a social justice topic. Teen Leaders will deepen their job readiness skills, practice facilitating groups while engaging community members in a meaningful dialogue; and operate as agents of change in their communities. They will receive arts and leadership training in preparation for the performance and workshop tour.
Commitment/Cost: Teen Leaders will be paid minimum wage ($15) for up to 10 hours per week meeting on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in person at the Boch Center, located in Downtown Boston, from 4pm – 6:30pm. The program will start on Tuesday December 2nd, 2025 and go through Thursday April 30th, 2026.

Requirements: Grades 9-12. You do NOT need a Social Security number to participate. The program is conducted mostly in English, but is open to students who are still learning English.
Description: This free, hands-on after-school program introduces high school students (grades 9–12) to careers in architecture, construction, and engineering through mentorship and a team design project. Meeting once a week from October through March, students gain real-world experience, explore career pathways, and connect with professionals in the field.
Last year, more than 125 students from 35 schools completed the program, and $264,000 in scholarships were awarded to 27 graduating seniors.
Commitment/Cost: FREE program - students meet once a week after school, and may have the opportunity to earn a scholarship as a senior.

Description: Y ACHIEVERS is a national program that helps young people discover and pursue higher education and career goals by equipping them with the skills needed to succeed and be community role models. Our bi-weekly meetings are intentionally located on the campus of Wentworth Institute of Technology to inspire hope and a belief that a college degree is in all of our student’s futures.
LEADERS CLUB is a character and leadership development program that serves teens ages 12 to 18. It is organized for the purpose of providing knowledge, training and experiences to young people. In this program, our young people become strong leaders in their communities, foster a spirit of service to others and shapes a healthy lifestyle in Mind, Body and Spirit.
YOUTH & GOVERNMENT is nationally accredited program which teaches young people the steps to make social change happen. In this program students participate in a Model Government Conference by acting as a Senator, House Representative, Lobbyist, Judge, Lawyer, Journalist and more. Delegates receive training in these positions through weekly meetings and special training events prior to the conference.
TIKKUN OLAM inspires teens to lead and give back with the For the Culture and Tikkun Olam program at the YMCA. This program empowers youth to tackle social issues through service projects, advocacy, and cultural exploration.
