Description: Maverick Landing Community Services is looking for volunteers to help with Food Distribution (sorting, bagging, distributing food to East Boston residents) on Wednesdays between 2-4pm, and volunteers to help with Homework Help/Academic Support (helping students ages 7-12 during after-school program) Monday through Thursday from 4:30-5:30pm.

Emerald Necklace Conservancy VOLUNTEERS

BOSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY TEEN VOLUNTEERS

Requirements: Grades 9-12
Description: Volunteer jobs help to prepare teens to become job ready while working in the library and learning customer service skills and learning how to interact with a variety of people. Teens will participate in a resume building program and an interview skills workshop
Some of the tasks are:
Search for missing books on shelves
Search for new websites for the BPL teen blog
Create booklists online
Put up book displays
Shelve books
Assist in leading weekly gaming tournaments in Teen Central on Friday

YMCA VOLunteerING

Description: Our volunteers nurture the potential of thousands of kids, teens and adults year-round. They teach, mentor, guide and support youth from their first few weeks of life through their first steps into adulthood. Volunteers assist as youth sports coaches, member services volunteers or through clubs, classes and events. Angell Animal Hospital VOlunteering

Description: Angell Animal Medical Center is a fast-paced, 24 hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. We are located at 350 S. Huntington Ave. in Boston, Massachusetts.
We are seeking dedicated volunteers who are interested in contributing to the daily operations of the Angell Animal Medical Center. This is a unique experience to become exposed to the field of animal medicine while assisting staff with various tasks.
Volunteer assignments may include the following:
Seeing how an animal hospital runs behind the scenes
Greeting, escorting, and engaging with hospital clients in our visiting hour program
Helping tackle our mountain of laundry
Cleaning cages, restocking food, and washing dishes in our inpatient wards
Participating in our comfort care program - an opportunity for our experienced volunteers to help comfort and sooth hospitalized pets in need of some companionship

OUtreach Coordinator for S.H.A.R.P.

Description: Safe Haven Adaptive Response Program (SHARP) is seeking multiple Volunteer Outreach Coordinators to join its tight-knit team in serving communities in Sierra Leone (West Africa). In this role, the Outreach Coordinators will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers, the Outreach Coordinator will hone speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving SHARP closer to its financial goals. The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, organized and have a knack for research. We’re looking for someone who believes in the mission of SHARP and has exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategizing and delivering on new ones.
