My Gold Award project focused on addressing food insecurity by providing resources to help individuals make healthy, affordable meals with ingredients commonly found in food pantries. Central to my project was a recipe book with simple, nutritious meals, including kid-friendly options to encourage family cooking.
I also organized a food donation drive and added a personal touch by including handmade bowls, symbolizing warmth and care. These efforts aimed to provide both physical nourishment and emotional support to the recipients.
To ensure sustainability, I made the cookbook available online and partnered with the King Philip Mud Club for future donations. My initiative not only addressed local food insecurity but also had a global impact, making nutritious meals accessible to individuals worldwide.
Overall, my project achieved its goals of supporting the community, empowering individuals, and creating a lasting impact through leadership, empathy, and collaboration.
