My name is Kate LaPlaca, and I am currently a senior at King Philip High School. I have been a member of Girl Scouts for 13 years and am proud to be an Ambassador Girl Scout in Troop 895. Throughout my time in Girl Scouts, I have developed a deep passion for community service and personal growth. In addition to my involvement with Girl Scouts, I enjoy a variety of activities, including reading, writing, baking, and cooking. These hobbies allow me to express my creativity while also honing skills that I can use to contribute positively to those around me.
I am also actively involved in Bystander Intervention, a program where I work alongside others to educate individuals around the state on the importance of intervening in bullying situations. Through this initiative, I aim to promote a safer and more supportive environment for everyone. Additionally, I serve as the co-president of the Bird Club, where I combine my love for nature with my commitment to environmental awareness, often participating in hiking excursions and advocating for wildlife conservation.
Outside of my community service and leadership roles, I am a huge fan of F1 racing, particularly following Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen's incredible performances on the track. Their teamwork, precision, and relentless pursuit of excellence resonate with my own values of hard work and perseverance. In addition, I am an avid supporter of women’s soccer, with a particular passion for FC Barcelona’s women’s team. Their dedication, skill, and success in the sport continue to inspire me.
My primary goal in all aspects of my life is to help others, and this ethos drives everything I do. Whether it’s through my Gold Award project, my leadership roles, or my volunteer work, my core mission has always been to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of others. This desire to serve and support those around me has shaped my approach to life and is the foundation upon which I continue to build my personal and professional aspirations.
