Our band didn't record anything today due to not having enough rehearsal space. so instead helped other bands.
our class split into two groups to begin with. set up drum mics, DI box for bass and headphones. we were taught about sound checks and recorded small sections of both instruments playing together.

First session
recorded billy's guitar for our 1st song using two condenser microphones.
Only two of our band was in for that session (Billy and Madi) because of this they decided that the most efficient thing would be to get the guitar done.
Second session
Since me and phoenix where both late Billy and Madi recorded Maids vocals for the song.
For vocals they used a Rode NT2A this is because the NT2A is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone, making it perfect for recording vocals.
They also used a pop shield which is used to reduce sibilance and background noise. they also used a cradle which reduces unwanted vibrations

first session
recorded the drums using a sm57 for the snare and 2x rode m5s for overheads. We also used an AKG D112 for the bass drum. We didn't mic up the toms as we don't use many toms for this song and didn't want to waste time doing something we didn't think was necessary.
we didnt come into many problems during this and it overall went really well
second session
for this session we recorded phoenix's guitar. for this we used an SM57 which we put on a mic stand and set it up near the amp. The main problem we encountered was timing with phoenix, we tried using a metronome but we found that he struggled more with that. Although he was happy with the final product me and billy weren't so will rerecord at some point soon,

In this session it was just me and billy. because of this we decided to re record phoenix's part but with billy instead. We did this as it was our last chance to get sometime decent guitar wise and we want the best outcome possible for how our song sounds.
because of lack of notice of phoenix not being in billy did not bring a guitar, to fix this problem we borrowed George's guitar and pedal board for the recording. we used a SM57 placed near the amp to record the guitar.
we tried to make it as close as possible to what phoenix did but in time and in a way that complimented the vocals more.
I was in charge of running the logic project and didn't come into many problems with that side of things. Overall we are really happy with the outcome.
