Lighting Clip 1: Guitar Player
This room was fairly dark. It was necessary to light the subject and the soundboard with two front key lights. The practical lights pointing down from the ceiling were turned on and used to fill in the background behind the musician. The light closest to the guitar player had to be angled to avoid too much light reflection on the body of the guitar.
Lights used: Two Falcon Eyes RX-12T LEDs on dimmer. One on the musician and the other near the soundboard to even out the front lighting.

Lighting Clip 2: Product shot

This was a panning product shot. The challenge was the products themselves were well lit from inside the case but the front of the case was dark. The case needed front lighting to even out with the well-lit products.
Lights used: Two Falcon Eyes RX-12T LEDs. I flooded the front of the cheese counter to match the bright lights inside the case.

Lighting Clip 3: Lego "Slasher"

This was a fun one. An 80's horror film style shot where the "slasher" is a Lego. The Lego is lit inside the cabin with spooky lighting. The cabin is actually a birdhouse.
Lights used: 1x 3 watt flicker LED.
Camera settings: 4k; ISO 400; 24fps; Shutter 180; f3.0
Lighting Clip 4: Statue

This black and white character statue needed some colorful comic book lighting. I used two led lamp bulbs to give it blue and magenta night tones on the backgound and sides of it's face.
Lights used: 2x LIFX led bulbs at 25%. Colors Blue and Magenta.
Camera settings: 4k; ISO 3200; 24fps; Shutter 180; f2.8

In Hangover Square (1945), this noir film uses heavy shadows and real fire as a light source. From a gentle candle flame to a raging concert hall fire in the film's climax, the contrast of shadow and fire sets the tone for this movie against early 20th century London.
