I shot this movie theater marquee at night. I liked the way the neon glows at faster ISOs. This 6k shot was framed with the horizontal and vertical lines of the neon theater signs against the night sky. The colors are bright at 800 ISO. The zoom draws you into the shot and makes the Regal Cinema Stadium brand the focus.

Visual components: Line & Shape, Movement, and Space
In this clip I wanted to feature the movement of the guitar player both in and out of focus. This shot was framed to focus on the musician's slider left hand while he strummed out of focus in the background with his right hand. The grid lines of strings and the slider provide an interesting geometric shape. The in-focus movement of the slider and the out of focus movement of his strumming hand created depth in the space of the frame.

In this clip I wanted to capture the blurred fast motion of the drumsticks on the static background of the drumheads. The 60p frame rate helps capture more of the fast action movement of the sticks. This shot frames the straight lines of the sticks hitting the round drumheads. The objects in the shot are mostly black and white to help the drumstick color stand out.

Visual components: Movement, Rhythm and Color
In this clip I wanted to highlight the colorful blue Mountain Jays. In these shots, the natural browns and greens of the background emphasize the blue feathers of the Jays. The 60p frame rate helped capture the fast movement of the birds. The five shots are each edited to 2 seconds and 40 frames to keep the rhythm of the editing consistent.

ISO=100; Frame Rate=24p, Shutter=180; f14; Resolution=4096 x 2160; Lens=12mm-35mm f/2.8
Visual components: Line & Shape, Movement, and Space
This clip was a static shot of a boat coming in from the bay. It focuses on the vessel as it moves out of the frame. The town in the background, the rock seawall in the middle ground and the boat in the foreground give this shot depth. The horizontal rock wall and the vertical mast of the boat create some defining visual lines that separate the water from the land.

ISO=100; Frame Rate = 24p, Shutter=180; f2.8; 4k Resolution=4096 x 2160; Lens = 28.6mm f/2.8
Visual components: Space, Movement, Tone and Color
In this shot I wanted a drone landscape of the snowy mountains and forest. The drone movement uses the background mountains, middle ground forest and the foreground houses to create distance. The snow and sunshine create a bright tone. The natural whites and browns emphasize the blue sky and the red barns.
