Challenge by: reminiscent-afterthought
Who here's familiar with Digimon World DS? It's fun...except when your Digimon don't have nearly enough experience to evolve and you need to do some exp. grinding before battling the bad guy otherwise they'll fry you... But I digress.
Certain things, "events", have to be done in order for the game to progress, so these tasks are also compulsory for you. Others are "side-quests" which aren't compulsory at all, but may assist depending on what you want, and "wild encounters" where you have a minimum compulsory (equivalent to racing through as fast as possible) but no maximum (where you roam to your heart's content). Doing more of these will naturally give you more points which will lower the difficulty of events, and some events require you to have a certain amount of points before you can progress. All this will be explained in more detail down below.
There is also the wild encounter areas n map, starting, naturally, from Digi-Central which you will have to pass through each time you want to change locations or are running low on "health". When you enter a location that's not Digi-Central, you have to start from the beginning of that route again. After all, you can't just magically appear where you left off in the game. :D Though there are less chances of getting lost.
Your goal? To obtain the rank of "Tamer King". The first rank, where everyone starts off, is called "Normal Trainer". After clearing certain events, you'll be upgraded to "Bronze", then "Silver", then "Gold", then "Platinum" and eventually "Tamer King". And how to clear this tasks? Well, that's where the writing comes in.
Follow the contents and enjoy! And trust me when I say the original version was way crazier.
