The clarinet is also a woodwind instrument. The fingerings are similar to the recorder. It uses delicate reeds and has a gentle woody tone.
How to make a sound:
1. top teeth on the top of the mouthpiece, about 1/2 inch in from the tip
2. bottom lip rolls over bottom teeth
3. steps 1 and 2 will kind of make a bunny rabbit face
4. close lips around the mouthpiece
5. blow into clarinet as if saying "heeee"
6. the reed will vibrate to make the sound
tips:
- If no sound comes out you might be biting on the reed to much, not leaving space for it to vibrate. Try relaxing your bottom jaw.
- If you squeak, you might be blowing too hard, biting on the reed, or not covering a hole completely with your finger.
- Make sure your reed is wet all over (top, bottom, front, back, ALL OVER!)
