For a complete list of upcoming events, see Cornell Club of Washington's web site.
Our clean-up events welcome everyone as part of Cornell Cares efforts (January and July-ish), but are especially joyful for families and Cornellians' Kids who need SERVICE HOURS (for National Honor Society, CAS for IB programs, or Scouts.) Do good while having fun meeting others!
Watch this page for events to clean up nature trails, roadsides, etc. with the Cornell Club of Washington!
Our first event will clean up the roadside near Trader Joe's and Marshall High School on Rte 7 between Falls Church and Tyson's Corner. Likely in October, 2025.
Watch this page in Fall, 2025 to be part of a "Raking Leaves" fundraiser in the Falls Church area. It's an opportunity for a really organized high schooler to bring a crew of 10 out with rakes and leafblowers. It's a WINNER and raises monies that the student might need for a school club or project or philanthropy. A high schooler who takes the lead will be able to BRAG-BRAG-BRAG about pulling it all together with the considerable resources I already have for success. Send interest to this email address that you have to input with NO SPACES: Librarian MS @ gmail. com
Students: see our Running Event Schedule and consider setting up a table to enlist help for your clean-up event. Enlist your friends and ask Maggie (email above) for community service hours sign-off for your National Honor Society or CAS hours.
A small-scale, individualized opportunity is available for any youth to take up. Just take a photo of a bag of trash you've gathered from any trail or site anywhere and send it in. Post it on instagram and tag @cornellclubdc so we can "like it." Let's inspire others. E-mail the photo to Maggie at the red dress abovec, and she'll report your "service hours" to your guidance counselor if you need them.
