Subject: How to Add a Co-Administrator, or Change to a New Administrator, on the
Cornell Club of Washington Scholarship Gmail Account
Date: June 10, 2026
To begin, the current administrator and the person to be added (the new administrator)
should have the CCW Scholarship Gmail account’s sign-in page open on a tablet or
laptop and their phones available, although the following procedure could be done solely
from one’s phone. I found it helpful as the one adding the new administrator to have
the CCW Scholarship account viewable on a larger screen.
The new administrator should know the Scholarship Gmail account password.
I, the current administrator, signed in to the Scholarship account with the password. I
opened the Administrator App on my phone and I told the new administrator the code I
saw there. He entered it on his log-in screen for the Scholarship Gmail account, and he
was then able to sign in.
If you stop there you will need to give the new administrator a code from the
Authenticator App on your phone each time they need to sign in. To avoid this, I made
the change permanent by clicking on the Settings gear at the top, then See all settings
immediately below, then Accounts in the row at the top, then immediately below clicked
on Change Account Settings: Google Account Settings. In the column on the left, I
clicked on Security & sign-in, and scrolled down to How to sign into Google. Here I
scrolled down to Recovery Phone. I deleted my phone number and added the new
administrator’s phone number. On the line immediately below, Recovery email, I left
my email address. This enabled both of us to remain on as administrators. I assume if I
had changed the email to the new administrator’s email address I would no longer have
sign-in access, but we didn’t test this.
Following this, several test attempts to sign in by both of us were successful.
The procedure above was worked out thanks to the new co-administrator, Kobe
Smolinski ’23.
